Position Summary

To provide dedicated Health and Safety support to the Washington Plant

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the Health and Safety and Environmental Management systems to ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 standard including updating and implementing policies and procedures when required

  • Review and update the legal register as required

  • Manage the risk assessment process

  • Oversee first aid arrangements

  • Organise and deliver training

  • Update HSE Metrics

  • Write and issue reports as required

  • Write and issue Health and Safety briefings

  • Carry out regular safety audits and tours

  • Carry out Health and Safety & Environmental monitoring and assessments

  • Chair health and safety meetings and issue minutes

  • Coordinate accident and incident investigations including maintaining logs, statistics and ensuring actions are complete

  • Liaise with the HSE and other regulatory bodies as required

  • Develop and run health and safety initiatives

  • Manage PPE

  • Oversee Contractors procedures and permits to work

  • Any other duties commensurate with the position as and when required.

What we are looking for

  • Qualified to a minimum of NEBOSH Certificate level

  • At least 5 year’s experience of Health, Safety and environmental practice in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience as an internal auditor

  • Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential

  • Must have practical auditing experience of ISO 45001 and ISO14001
