Position Summary

Energizer is looking for a Die Grinder/Tool Maker to support its Asheboro, NC packaging facility located on Albemarle Road.

Each Die Grinder has a basic responsibility to ensure that the quality of the work meets established standards and specifications. Installs and maintains precision production tooling and equipment components to include dies, punches, shims, and other metal stamping components. Will be required to measure tooling, grind tooling if needed, and build die tooling back to print specifications.

Energizer is looking for a Die Grinder/Tool Maker to support its Asheboro, NC packaging facility located on Albemarle Road.

Each Die Grinder has a basic responsibility to ensure that the quality of the work meets established standards and specifications. Installs and maintains precision production tooling and equipment components to include dies, punches, shims, and other metal stamping components. Will be required to measure tooling, grind tooling if needed, and build die tooling back to print specifications.

  • A Die Grinder must be capable of setting up and operating all the machine tools used in the die shop. This includes Surface grinders, lathes, milling machines, and tool grinders, etc.

  • Perform Die Shop and Metal Stamping maintenance, press problem solving and preventive maintenance on metal stamping equipment.

  • The Die Grinder should be able to work from sketches, samples, prints and written or oral specifications.

  • The Die Grinder should be capable of machining a variety of complicated parts for metal stamping dies.

  • Interface with Engineers, Mechanics and Operators through the process of troubleshooting and problem solving.

  • It is required that the Machinist (Die Grinder) be "safety minded" at all times

  • May also perform additional duties as assigned

Specific Accountabilities

Required Skills and Experience

  • High School or GED equivalent Required

  • Three or more years’ experience as a skilled tradesperson, working in a manufacturing/industrial setting

  • Strong verbal and written communication is required

  • Preform assigned task with minimal supervision

  • Computer Skills including Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Fluent in English, verbally and written

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Formal apprenticeship or vocational school training preferred

  • Physically able to stand for extended periods of time

  • Able to lift up to 50lbs

  • Knowledgeable and competent in safety disciplines stipulated by OSHA

  • Candidate must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Be willing to work any shift, and work overtime as needed

  • Wear all personal protective equipment (i.e., hearing protection, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, etc.) in areas where they are required.

Working Relationships & Environment

  • Reports to shift supervisor.

  • Noise level and working conditions are similar to those for a light industrial manufacturing/warehouse facility.

  • Work activities take place within a temperature and humidity-controlled environment.

  • Be a role model to encourage good attendance and good work habits.

  • Be a part of (CI) continuous improvement ideas to maximize impact on the key metrics
