The facilities Safety, Health, and Environmental Affairs (SHEA) Specialist is part of the facilities group at Energizer and will support all aspects of the safety, health, and environmental programs at the plant location. The SHEA specialist is a key member of the facilities team and will maintain program alignment with all corporate safety and environmental programs as well as abiding by all applicable laws and regulations.

Execute program and maintain documentation for safety programs such as:
Chemical Hygiene/Hazard Communication Program
Lockout Tagout/Energy Control Procedures
Job Safety Hazard Analysis program
Power Press safety
Machine Guarding safety program
Contractor Safety Compliance
Lead, organize, and properly document required training for safety and environmental compliance programs
Participate in, and on occasion Lead incident investigations
Implement improvements to safety processes and training systems
Drive safety culture towards personal accountability and continuous improvement
Evaluate, specify, and procure Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental/Health/Safety/Chemistry or related field
2+ years’ experience in a safety or environmental compliance role.
Knowledge of OSHA Laboratory regulations
Knowledge of EPA regulations
Experience with Haz Com and chemical safety
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
Safety experience in a chemical laboratory or manufacturing environment
Preferred Skills and Experience
Knowledge of OSHA machine guarding regulations
Knowledge of DOD hazardous shipping regulations
Knowledge of company systems such as Vault, Spend Management, SRM, etc…. desired
Ability to lead and develop teams to meet business objectives.
Working Relationships & Environment
Reports to the Plant Manager.
Key internal relationships with all plant colleagues
Some travel may be required.
Work schedules may vary from typical business hours.
