Position Summary

The National Account Manager (NAM) position is a key contributor in delivering profitable growth for Energizer. The NAM plays a critical role in developing customer relationships at every level and additional business by strategically identifying and addressing opportunities of: revenue, growth, profit, product distribution, merchandising, pricing and promotion. The NAM works cross functionally with internal teams to achieve stated business targets.

Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement annual business plans that efficiently achieves customer & Energizer goals/objectives

  • Communicate industry and competitor developments and recommend adjustments in business plan and tactics to boldly respond to changes; lead response implementation

  • Develop overall customer P&L and deliver FY financial targets

  • Network extensively within accounts in all relevant departments, developing positive working relationships in order to maximise leverage for all our brands

  • Consistently use Category Management based customer proposals in order to achieve optimum share of space and promotional activity for all our brands.

  • Grow distribution for our brands by winning new accounts, launching new products, or growing current range.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Develop and oversee annual Joint Business Plan and implementation. Oversee monthly reporting and recommendations to deliver expected sales and GM plan

  • Foster excellent customer relations with customer buying teams and key customer internal support teams including marketing, operations and merchandising specialist to ensure long term partnership that promotes sales growth

  • Collaborate with Customer Supply Chain Team and Customer Planning Team to encourage initiatives, regular status meetings and forecast accuracy

  • Oversee customer contracts, trade fund management and promotion ROI analysis

  • May also perform additional duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Demonstrated track record in sales; expertise in consumer package good environment

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and proactive in identifying issues and recommending solutions

  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent account ownership skills (previous experience of JBP planning, P&L responsibility)

  • Experience or ability to work effectively in teams

  • Proficient knowledge and use of MS Office (Excel & PowerPoint), Nielsen and/or IRI.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Customer selling and contract negotiation experience preferred

  • Experience with Grocery accounts

Working Relationships & Environment

This role reports to Sales Director. Key relationships internally will include Brand Team, Sales Planning Department, Shopper Marketing and Supply Chain Team. There are some travel requirements as needed, mainly in NZ
