Position Summary

The Assistant Manager, Shopper Marketing is responsible for supporting the Americas Shopper Marketing team, playing a key role in accelerating Energizer’s engagement with the shopper. This includes influencing across key stakeholders to ensure Energizer wins in-store and online. This position has responsibility for supporting the development of actionable, data-driven shopper insights to build best-in-class shopper marketing plans that drive profitable volume growth and build the brand.


  • Play a key role in delivering the marketing plans for Energizer at Walmart. Own creation, execution, and reporting for all marketing activity.

  • Support execution of online content and media

  • Partner with Insights to identify barriers and opportunities with Walmart in order to develop win-win programs for brands, shoppers and Walmart.

  • Develop and present insights recommendations to internal stakeholders to inform account and channel-level planning

  • Engage with agency partners to drive optimization, creative development, execution of marketing requirements, stakeholder engagement, execute analytical plan, and achieve program success metrics.

  • Supports Shopper insight generation and analytics

  • Supports the post-promotion / program analytics

Specific Accountabilities

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to lead execution of customer-specific promotional merchandising efforts, including costing, creative briefs, display financial forms, and artwork approvals

  • Consistently evaluate key shopper marketing programs 90 days post program completion. Evaluation includes a comprehensive overview of how program performed against set objectives, sales results, brand share movement, and ROI

  • Lead, manage, track, and reconcile POs for the entire team. Liaise with key functions (e.g. Procurement, Accounting) and help team navigate internal processes to ensure Energizer maximizes value from vendor partners

  • Develop annual shopper budget and marketing plans to include in-store, online, and customer-specific media across multiple platforms and channels to drive conversion at shelf

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with eCommerce team to execute product content on eCommerce sites

  • Execute customer-specific permanent and promotional merchandising projects

  • Collaborate with the Insights and Analytics team to generate shopper insights and recommendations for the team

  • May also perform additional duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

  • BA/BS required (4-year degree)

  • 3-5 years of related experience in shopper marketing, trade marketing, agency account management or category management

  • Very strong project management skills with the ability to multi-task

  • Detail oriented with highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Results-orientated and self-starter with a can-do attitude

  • Strong analytical skills for data-based strategies and post-mortem analysis

  • Strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint preferred

  • Highly motivated and able to work independently

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Works well in a team environment

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency strongly preferred

  • Consumer packaged goods experience preferred
