Position Summary

The Senior Sales Analyst is an integral member of the Auto Care Walmart Customer Sales Team and provides support for all facets of our customer sales organization.  In this role, you will support our sales and cross functional teams in determining and implementing initiatives to achieve our desired omni-channel growth targets.  The successful candidate will be able to draw meaningful insights and conclusions from various data sources and be able to effectively use that information to formulate and deliver recommendations that provide a platform for decision making by key stakeholders.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Understand evolving category, retail, market, and shopper landscapes and draw meaningful conclusions from data analyses to communicate key insights, recommendations for growth, and business implications

  • Initiate, develop, and undertake ad hoc analyses and projects that can be used to educate and inform the cross functional teams of opportunities to drive improved business results at our key customers Analyze NPD Syndicated Retailer data, Retail Link reporting, and related business reports. Communicate key trends, market share data, and learnings for use in the development of business strategies

  • Work with National Account Managers and cross functional teams to develop annual promotional calendars and rollback strategies that align with both our company and retailer customer strategies

  • Perform post promotional analyses and utilize results to inform and improve future event performance

  • Track competitive promotions, pricing, and ads within our categories and leverage learnings for growth

  • Play a key role in monthly forecasting to achieve desired forecast accuracy goals and ensure product availability

  • Understand the E commerce landscape and actively support the team's efforts to achieve our growth objectives

  • Assist with internal and customer related projects including joint business planning, ad hoc business reviews, deduction analyses, item setup & maintenance, and other related tasks as needed

Required Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience working for a Consumer Package Goods company or Retailer with a track record of generating actionable analyses/results for the Organization

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Mathematics, Economics, or related field required

  • Detailed knowledge and experience using Retail Link required

  • Advanced experience using Microsoft Office suite including Excel and PowerPoint required

  • Proficiency in data analytics: Analytically minded with the experience and ability to interpret raw data and convert insights into actionable plans linked to strategic goals

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills – written and oral

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

  • Proactive and energetic self-starter with the ability to work effectively either with or without direct supervision

  • Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, manage multiple projects at once, and redirect priorities as needed

  • Innovative approach to business challenges

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in using syndicated data, NPD

  • Experience with 3rd party reporting systems that connect to Retail Link and assist with reporting

  • Experience with seasonal business may be useful

  • Thorough understanding of Walmart's business model

  • Basic selling skills including strength in influencing management decision making and engaging with sales leaders
