Position Summary

Energizer is seeking an experienced and motivated Jr. Counsel, Global Commercial Operations, who will be responsible for providing legal advice and support on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters facing a consumer products company, globally. This role will report to the Counsel, Global Commercial Operations, based in Bogota, Colombia.

Jr. Counsel will interact with and provide support to the Global Commercial teams and will be expected to become a partner of the business and weave legal strategies and advice into all aspects of engagement. Specific Accountabilities

This role will primarily support the Global Commercial organization. This position is expected to be a partner to the business and to contribute to the success of the Company by combining both legal and business expertise to understand Energizer’s operations and strategic goals.

This attorney will be expected to work effectively across internal legal and non-legal functions. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Provide legal support to Energizer’s global Commercial organization

  • Structure, draft, negotiate and review various complex commercial contracts

  • Advise on various day-to-day matters facing a global commercial team

  • Occasionally coordinate with and manage outside counsel

  • Respond to a wide range of legal inquiries from internal stakeholders, focusing on understanding their needs, providing practical solutions and effectively managing risk

  • Willingness and interest in handling various legal matters, even if they fall outside day-to-day responsibilities

What we are looking for

Required Skills and Experience

  • Juris Doctorate degree (JD) from an accredited institution

  • Member in good standing of at least one bar

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience with focus on commercial law (including experience advising on various go to market strategies, such as retail, agency, and distribution)

  • Experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements and business issues

  • Experience advising global clients

  • Proactive and strategic thinker

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills

  • Fluency in English

  • Ability to make solid judgment calls under pressure

  • Strong customer service focus

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others in a matrix management structure

  • Ability to build positive relationships with management and other members of the business and to positively influence outcomes

  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and direction

  • Ability to evaluate and mitigate risk

  • Global mindset and the ability to work virtually with business partners across the globe

  • Willingness to take on new projects even if they are outside the scope of day-to-day responsibilities

Working Relationships

  • Will report to Counsel, Global Commercial Operations based in Bogota, Colombia

  • Key relationships internally will include attorneys, paralegals/specialists, and the Global Commercial teams

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role that is office based in Bogota, Colombia for a minimum of 2 days per week, with the flexibility to be remote on certain days.
