Position Summary

As the Director of Manufacturing, Global Auto Care at Energizer, you will oversee manufacturing operations covering over a dozen product lines in our 500,000 sq ft divisional hub in Dayton, OH.  In this role, you will oversee development of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process and in driving longer-term efficiency improvements in a high performance, lean, team atmosphere. You will be for responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe work environment.   Be prepared to provide leadership, vision and direction to the overall manufacturing operations of the Plant.  It's essential that you will drive business results through strong collaboration with cross functional leadership through the entire plant and with upper management.

Accountabilities

  • Actively participate in strategic planning with company management to promote and support the organizations growth

  • Drive process improvements and continuous improvement efforts through a Lean Manufacturing approach to increase efficiencies and plant capacity

  • Engineer solutions for automation improvements and multiple product integration. Identify and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data

  • Direct activities to design new or modify existing designs or equipment, improve production techniques, and develops test procedures

  • Develop a Lean Culture throughout the site working with both warehousing and product engineering.

  • Manages ongoing capacity planning process and sets goals and expectations while effectively monitoring the performance of manufacturing operations for the organization

  • Direct and determine priorities of supervisors and priority of projects. Manage and plan manufacturing schedule and manufacturing capacity. Manages departmental budget. Oversees training and mentoring of employees in appropriate lean and quality standards

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Industrial or Manufacturing Operations (or equivalent) and 10+ years of experience in the Manufacturing industry, with a minimum of 5 of those years in a successful leadership role

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and MRP/scheduling skills

  • Works effective across the organization and fosters teamwork

  • Ability to organize and carry out multiple projects

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to design and troubleshooting in an industrial environment

  • Demonstrated project management capability

  • Estimating and budget management

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience working with manufacturing based technology, processes and principals

  • Experience with liquid fill organizations as well as warehousing and distribution

Working Relationships

  • Domestic & International teams & suppliers

  • Reports to VP, Operations, Global Auto Care. Key relationships internally will include Supply Chain/Logistics, Marketing Operations, Strategic Sales, Finance, and Procurement.

     

Work Environment

  • Corporate office environment in a large plant/manufacturing environment

  • Travel requirements, possibly including International Travel
