Position Summary

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will assist Energizer's Auto Care division by maintaining systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance schedules; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts; supervising staff.  You will also be responsible for the implementation of a new computerized maintenance system.

Accountabilities

  • Be responsible for work involving the planning, instruction and execution of diversified duties in accordance with workload priorities

  • Perform highly repetitive and prescribed duties involving a variety of routine clerical duties.

  • Work from established procedures and/or verbal instructions

  • Assist, direct and instruct skilled trades in their duties to alter and/or repair a variety of tools and equipment

  • Responsible for supervision of the instruction, training and progress of apprentices in their respective department

  • Job includes the issuing of work orders; solicit overtime and accurate timekeeping records

  • Receive direction from supervisors and work schedules specifications, planned set-ups and operations sequences establish operating procedures and instruction relative to work assignments

  • Collaborate with technical personnel for installations, repairs, adjustments and process improvements

  • Work from established procedures including Safety, Environmental, Quality, Standard Work, and monitor to ensure employees follow prescribed safety procedures and work in a safe manner and environment

  • Be a role model to encourage good attendance and good work habits

  • Have a working knowledge of all maintenance department operations

  • Facilitate a continuous improvement culture by instilling Plan, Do, Check, Act, and root cause corrective action methodology to eliminate waste

  • Create a work environment conducive to employee morale, motivation, and teamwork to accomplish performance objectives

  • Implement Brands Operation System behaviors, systems, and processes to continually improve competitiveness

  • Develop, execute and improve machine preventative maintenance

  • Complete time and production reporting as required or requested

  • Move material as required and perform other duties as required or assigned

Specific Accountabilities

  • Maintain Supervisor and employees' work areas, and tools according to Visual Management and 5S Standards

  • Communicate goal progress and roadblocks to Facilities Manager

  • Support implementation of Continuous Improvement (CI) and Escalation processes to maximize impact on the Key Metrics

Required Skills and Experience

  • We recommend at least 5-10 years of maintenance/facilities experience, including time spent as a journeyman

  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience managing a large team of skilled trades employees by leading with integrity, managing by fact, achieving results, & building teams

  • High technical and mechanical aptitude including strong familiarity with computer programs such as Word, Access, SAP, and Excel

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to partner across organization in a collaborative and positive manner.

  • Strong familiarity with preventative maintenance scheduling

  • Experience achieving key performance metrics and drive for continuous improvement

  • Expert Problem Solving – Driving Issues to Root Cause / Corrective Action with a process-oriented, analytical, problem-solving ability

  • Bias for action, decisive, and self-direction

  • Project management skills to keep improvements on-time

     

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university and/or training would be preferable

  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance system would be desirable, but not required

  • Ability/Desire to obtain a Yellow Belt or higher for continuous improvement processes

Work Environment:

Weight: Lift material up to 60#, with the ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
