Position Summary

This position is responsible for Materials MRP and Inventory accuracy via end-of-job inventory reconciliation and investigations. The position will liaise between production schedulers, buyers, off-site warehouse personnel, material handlers and the receiving dept. to ensure materials are available when the line requires without downtime/shortages.

Accountabilities

  • Plan material located in-house and off-site or incoming material from external sources in accordance with the published production schedule.

  • Utilize the company’s MRP system (SAP) to view system requirements, forecasts, usage and safety stock (Days on hand) to determine appropriate levels of inventory in the plant.

  • Prepare and distribute Bill of Material (BOM)/Pick List.

  • Responsible for investigating variances, root cause analysis and reporting metrics on scrap rates/inventory accuracy.

  • Assist in Return to Stock (RTS) process of work orders as needed.

  • Prepare reports utilizing Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Google Docs.) and SAP.

  • Distribute daily shortage risk notifications to pertinent individuals (i.e. buyers, receiving, schedulers, production…etc.)

  • Notification of material issues with appropriate personnel and direct supervisors.

  • Perform additional duties, tasks and projects as assigned.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Create BOM’s based on production schedule

  • Verify ownership of all material needed for production

  • Callout all schedule issues regarding raw material

  • Coordinate with Alpla and Buyers to ensure materials are on-site to meet production schedule.

  • Verify all excess material from production run are returned to stock and reconciled.

  • Reconcile all material at completion of scheduled production.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills including the ability to meet aggressive deadlines

  • Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills

  • Possesses a high level of attention to detail.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or 2-4 yrs. equivalent experience in a manufacturing or Supply Chain management.

  • Work alongside Production supervisors, Leads, Material Coordinators, Schedulers, Buyers and inventory control.

Work Environment

  • Weight: Lifting up to 60 LBS., with the ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.

  • Job requires : Leadership skills, Analytics, Self-direction, problem solving, attention to detail and communication

  • Physical capabilities : Stretching, lifting, climbing, twisting, turning, standing, pulling, pushing, reaching and bending.

  • Weight: Lifting up to 60#
