Position Summary

Job Summary

This individual will lead the Materials team on the plant floor to ensure all team members are equipped with necessary tools and skills; trained to standard work/processes as well as ensuring materials are delivered to the manufacturing lines (internal customers) accurately and timely, maintaining inventory control at all times. This position is accountable for driving all aspects of departmental and company objectives relating to Safety, Quality, Lean, 5S, Productivity, Delivery, and Continuous Improvement.

Accountabilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

•Lead daily tier meetings with Materials team to address Safety, Quality, Delivery, Accuracy and 5S metrics

•Perform daily inventory scan audits in supermarket, stage and return to stock locations

•Lead escalation, investigation and troubleshooting events for material shortages and inventory variances

•Daily ensure staff levels are set appropriately in all groups/areas and escalate any risks.

•Drive corrective/preventative action plans and take supporting or lead roles in RCCA & RAILS

•Perform training for new staff utilizing I DO-WE DO-YOU DO approach.

•Prepare basic reports utilizing the Microsoft Office suite (Excel & Word primarily).

•Promote and create a work environment conducive to employee morale, motivation, and teamwork.

•Communicate goal progress and challenges to Materials Supervisor.

•Implement Spectrum Brands Operation System behaviors, systems, and processes to continually improve competitiveness.

•Accountable to lead daily systematic variance reports for all PSA control points and drive investigation and timely reconciliation.

•Report process break down issues, diagnose where gaps may be present and providerecommendation for improvement and correction.

•Drive broader functional knowledge, expertise and learning with all individuals on the team.

•Perform additional duties, tasks and projects as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

Education and Experience Profile

-High School Diploma/GED or 2 years equivalent experience in administration position.

-Lean manufacturing experience or ability to adapt to a Lean Culture.

-Excellent computer skills, detailed oriented, and great organizational skills

Required Skills

-Demonstrates integrity; manages by fact, achieve results, bias for action, decisive, and is self- directed.

-Good keyboard skills and familiarity with computer systems required.

-Must possess excellent documentation and filing skills.

-Job requires strong work ethics, accuracy, and organizational skill for multi-tasking.

-Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

-Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly condition.

-Maintain necessary records as instructed.

-Willing to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift

-Weight: Lifting up to 40#, with the ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.

-Job requires: Leadership abilities, self-direction, possess decision making, problem solving, conflict resolution, strong communication, and computer skills.

-Physical capabilities: Stretching, lifting, climbing, twisting, turning, standing, pulling, pushing, reaching and bending.

Working conditions are normal for high office environment and light manufacturing environment
