Position Summary

The position is responsible supporting the Shift Supervisor in directing an efficient flow of merchandise through the Dayton facility. The role will be responsible for supporting facility safety programs, inbound receipts, replenishments, case picking, outbound shipping, labor requirements. The Shift Lead will assist in training and coaching associates while performing daily distribution duties (working Lead).

 

 

Accountabilities

  • Perform daily distribution activities related to unloading, loading, staging and picking of product

  • Serve as the backup for the Shift Supervisor as needed

  • Excellent knowledge of the SAP system and RF functionality

  • Key participate in driving continuous improvement efforts

  • Assist the Shift Supervisor in organizing day-to-day operations and personnel assignments to ensure safe, accurate and on- time order fulfillment

  • Interface with Manufacturing and Transportation teams to insure on time shipping to customers and ensuring all customer specific requirements are met

  • Apply lean principles to continually improve operations, 5S

  • Escalate all issues affecting the key metrics: Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost

  • Mentor new personnel in providing systems training and SOP guidance

  • Interface with all personal in a positive, team building manner

  • Assist Shift Supervisor performing assigned projects and administration tasks

Specific Accountabilities

  • High School diploma

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in distribution

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong communications skills – written and verbal

  • Strong Computer skills proficient at Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point

  • Ability to operation power industrial equipment (fork trucks, etc)

  • Ability to work 12 hr. shifts in support of distribution

  • Ability to perform repetitive lifts up to 60 lbs. over a 12 hr. shift

  • Analytical skills to include problem identification and resolution

Work Environment:

  • Maintain a high standard of leadership by promoting safety and continuous improvement. As a backup supervisor must have the ability to address issues directly with peers in a one to one or a group setting. Able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs.
