Position Summary

As a Senior Distribution Supervisor, you will be responsible for outbound operations of approximately a team including a distribution supervisor, WMS tasker, 2 team leads, and around 20 other team members in the Energizer, Global Auto Care (GAC) leadership team.   You will be responsible for delivering on challenging Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) metrics which include safety, order quality and aggressive departure times for outbound shipments.  The right candidate for this role is a natural leader that creates buy-in to change management and delivering on expectations.


  • Assist in operations to maximize layout, processes and culture related to picking, packing, shipping, quality control, inventory counts, etc.

  • Build an inclusive environment with high engagement associate level involvement

  • Lead and participate in 6 Sigma / Lean processes initiatives for safety, quality and warehousing processes

  • Effectively utilize Manpower Planning tools to ensure staffing levels for assignment completion

  • Collaborate with Distribution Management to meet corporate strategic initiatives to improve Quality while sustaining or improving On-time-shipping performance

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Customer service and Transportation teams to ensure on-time shipping and all customer requirements are met

  • Assure employees are thoroughly trained in processes and business practices/policies

  • Responsible for new team members training utilizing Standard Work to ensure a successful introduction of process and procedures for operation

  • Initiate and support Distribution cost reduction activities

  • Communicating and maintaining a culture of open relationships with hourly employees

  • Responsible for managing day-to-day personnel assignments to ensure safe, quality and on-time shipments

  • Monitor and manage key performance criteria

  • Participating in recruiting and screening routines for new employees

  • Assume responsibility for operation in absence of peer

Specific Accountabilities

  • 99% On Time Shipment Performance

Required Skills and Experience

  • BS/BA (4 year undergraduate) degree or equivalent experience

  • We recommend at least 1 years of distribution leadership and employee engagement experience

  • Strong Warehouse Management System experience (SAP, Oracle, etc.)

  • Strong knowledge of Supply Chain Management or Distribution Network

  • Strong communications skills – written and verbal

  • Strong Computer skills proficient at Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point

  • Strong knowledge of Change Management tools (improvement workshops, or other engagements to improve processes)

  • Experience in Six Sigma or Lean methodology

  • Analytical skills to include problem identification and resolution

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Adaptability to change; able to manage diverse situations

  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and make sound decisions

  • Experience interacting with Transportation and Customer Service team members

Working Relationships & Environment

Work Relationships:

  • This position reports to the Senior Distribution Director and will be responsible for the supervision of 23-28 hourly associates. Will have direct interaction with Quality and Receiving primarily, but also Materials, Production, Customer Service, Safety, Quality and Transportation teams.

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced, high-volume warehouse/plant environment, project driven during non-peak season

  • This is a 2nd Shift position. Shift hours are Tuesday – Friday 3:30pm – 2:00am

  • Travel requirements include travel up to 10%
