Energizer Shipping Clerk in Dayton, Ohio
Under general supervision, the Shipping Clerk performs a variety of assignments, both technical and clerical to receive, inspect, store and ship material.
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for general clerical and phone assistance for the shipping department and regularly interacts with drivers and warehouse personnel to support the dispatch of drivers.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
•Direct internal and external contact communicating effectively with GAG customers, carriers and teammates
•Communicating dock door assignments to drivers and appropriate changes as needed.
•Using professional judgment to assess the impact of tactical decisions/actions on GAG
•Building supplier and carrier relationships at operational levels
•Prepare basic reports utilizing Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)
•Log data for outbound warehousing
•Maintaining accurate records of shipping documentation and assist with the timely completion of paperwork for the department.
•Timely escalate receiving issues with appropriate individuals.
•Regularly interact with drivers and customers.
•Processes accurate and timely paperwork.
•Maintain good rapport with drivers and coworkers.
Required Skills and Experience
Education and Experience Profile
•Minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience
•Associate's degree with a minimum of one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•SAP experience strongly preferred
•Effective communication both in writing and verbally, exceptional phone manner and display a customer service attitude at all times.
•High level of organization and attentive to detail.
•Ability to work efficiently and meet critical deadlines.

Working conditions are normal for plant and distribution center operations. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk, use hands and fingers, handle objects or controls, talk and hear, stand, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
