The Plant Technical Engineering Manager is a key leadership position within the plant and requires not only technical knowledge, but communication, collaboration, and general management capabilities. This position is the single point of contact for all plant projects, such as product introductions, line extensions and engineering projects. The position requires strong leadership capability for driving a culture of safe work practices, adherence to GMP’s safety requirements, Continuous Improvement, managing the Plant Engineering function, and developing and implementing the overall plant technical strategies and tactics focused on engineering projects, asset management programs. In addition, the Technical Plant Engineering Manager provides solutions to technical problems and recommendations for improvements in production activities as well as, developing and leading plant specific engineering and to achieve key performance goals. This position is also responsible for creating and managing the plant technical expense budget and working with the designated Platform Engineering to deliver the capital plan and with the designated Director of Operations to manage and deliver cost reduction targets and growth initiatives.
Develops and implements assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for customers.
Responsible for taking project from original concept through final implementation at the plant level. (Includes product introductions, line extensions, product changes, cost savings initiatives and other such plant projects.)
Collaborates with the Director of Operations to define product scope, objectives, detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.
Responsible for providing project update communications to the appropriate parties at both the plant and platform levels, as well as any outside contractors.
Responsible for operating as key process executor.
Directs plant project engineering execution and generates cost improvements in assets, processes, and material usage to reach annual performance goals
Collaborates and works effectively with corporate functional groups and supports enterprise initiatives and deliverables.
Executes with excellence all capital and plant project work leveraging TPM and Vertical Start-up methodologies using sound project management methodologies.
Responsible for oversight of plant electrical resources to maintain the facility and to support productions efforts, as needed. Includes: plant computer network, database administration, and software maintenance; PLC’s and controls; perform projects to improve production or minimize risks.
Supports plant production leaders and technicians in all aspects of manufacturing; maintenance shutdown planning and schedule coordination; training efforts.
Drives continuous improvement of plant manufacturing processes and other brand impact cost reductions.
Keeps abreast of new technologies and applications.
Understand, support and maintain all plant and corporate engineering standards.
Responsibility for the plant infrastructure and support personnel.
Manage and drive business simplification efforts for the plant.
Track record of accomplishments, success, and results
Extensive experience taking project from original concept through final implementation at the plant level.
Demonstrated leadership ability, at least 3 years
Extensive technical experience, including but not limited to:
Manufacturing equipment (liquid fill manufacturing)
PLC Control Systems
Extensive knowledge and experience with TPM with at least 2 years of experience working in a TPM environment.
Computer skill in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access
Exceptional influence management skills with the ability to manage cross-functional resources without direct reporting relationships.
Excellent communication skills – both formal and informal with the ability to communicate within all levels of the organization.

Required Skills and Experience
BS in Engineering
7-15 years of experience in Engineering / Project Engineering & Management, within a large, high speed Food or CPG manufacturing plant
Preferred Skills and Experience
Prefer Experience from a Fortune 500 Company
Working Relationships & Environment
