Position Summary

The Brand Activation Manager (BAM) is part of an engaged team and assists in the development of annual brand plans for the markets Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. The BAM manages execution of agreed plans to drive business growth consistent with the International marketing cycle plan and global direction. Besides the BAM co-ordinates and implements in-store execution of the marketing cycle plan targeted to retailers and shoppers as well as champions and communicates brand activation plans to local sales teams. Overall, the BAM manages product portfolio execution.


  • Provides input to strategy development and annual marketing cycle plan to meet business objectives in line with global direction

  • Manages the local market product portfolio and all product- related executional elements, in conjunction with International Marketing.

  • Manages all consumer activations, in conjunction with International Marketing.

  • Co-ordinates and executes in-store marketing plan locally to meet business objectives in line with global direction.

  • Maintains a portfolio of permanent and temporary display vehicles.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Develops a detailed understanding of all aspects of the market using global insights plus local category, trade, shopper and consumer and competitor data that provides competitive advantage.

  • Builds a winning program of activities and initiatives in line with global direction and International marketing cycle plan that drives consumer and shopper interest to meet agreed sales and margin targets.

  • Delivers a winning activation program that drives shopper interest and maximized sales performance from brand initiatives. May include retailer events, POS and visibility, in-store demos etc. to drive existing brands and new product launches.

  • Working closely with the local sales teams to maximize opportunities and ensure effective implementation of strategies and plans within major channels and customers.

  • Coordinates with and manages local creative/activation agencies as required

  • Manages all aspects of product range execution, including core range, promotional packs and NPD.

  • Liaises with Supply Chain and Finance to ensure seamless execution of in-market initiatives (e.g. forecasting, inventory management, IMF maintenance).

  • Adapts and leverages central Visibility tools and assets to provide best in class retail presence and in-store communication.

  • Sets up temporary display SKU's (Stock Keeping Units) and manages any promotional artwork production

Required Skills and Experience

  • University Degree in Business, Marketing or a similar discipline

  • Solid track record of working in consumer goods marketing and sales

  • Exposure of working directly with customers and sales teams

  • High level of computer skills in Microsoft Office

  • Experience of analysing and utilizing trade audit data

  • Demonstrated competencies in collaboration, influence, customer focus, critical thinking and achieving results in alignment with business goals

  • Self-Starter with the ability to work autonomously

  • Demonstrated commercial acumen

  • Key customer knowledge

  • Agency management experience
