Position Summary

The Finite Scheduler/Operations Supervisor is the Business Services Leader and provides linkage between the St. Louis Logistics team and the manufacturing facility. The incumbent is responsible analyzing requirements and developing schedules to ensure the customer receives product on time in the most efficient manner, while meeting delivery and inventory goals. As Business Services Leader, this role is responsible for directing, supervising, and coordinating efforts of the Materials Management and Warehouse team.

Accountabilities

Key external contact and Voice of the Plant for Customer Service.

  • Analyzes customer demands and formulates schedules to meet customer service metrics

  • Confirms and balances packaging schedules to align plant operations and St. Louis planning to deliver expected customer service and inventory levels

  • Collaborates with St. Louis planning and Affiliate planning resources to provide production scheduling updates

  • Develops and maintains a system of signaling the Value Stream to manufacture product on time

  • Collaborates with the Plant and Logistics to strategically align capacity and resource requirements to current and future customer demands. Lead role in capacity planning

  • Collaborates with Quality, Marketing and other cross-functional teams to facilitate the completion of “Go to Markets” for packaging changes

  • Coordinates the procurement of raw materials including requisitions, ordering, follow-up, inventory management, request for quotation, obsolescence, price variance and rejections/complaints

  • Manages materials to support the production schedules while striving to achieve material inventory goals

  • Assists in scheduling production operations using SAP and other planning tools.

  • Communicates information to Operations, material handlers, quality inspection, and warehouse concerning material changes, safety stock levels and material outages

  • Resolves material issues, including inventories, shortages, delivery delays and quality issues

  • Initiates and coordinates material cost reduction efforts

  • Promotes safety, health and environmental initiatives as well as 5S and Housekeeping within assigned area

  • Promotes and champions team initiatives, colleague ownership and empowerment

  • Provides direct leadership and consistently administers Energizer policies and work rules to ensure conformity

  • Promotes safety, health and environmental initiatives as well as 5S and Housekeeping within assigned area

  • Determines training needs and administers colleague training for assigned area

  • Demonstrates a pro-active and creative approach to problem solving and continuous improvement. Leads and/or facilitates improvement efforts/special projects related to safety, quality, cost, etc.

  • Promotes and champions team initiatives, colleague ownership and empowerment

Specific Accountabilities

  • Manages the Business Services Team, including performance management of hourly and non-exempt direct reports

  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

  • BA/BS Degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or other appropriate fields, or equivalent experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience in logistics, planning and scheduling experience and supervisory background

  • Demonstrated leadership, decision-making, organizational and motivational abilities

  • Experience in computer systems, such as SAP, Manugistics, or other MRP/planning systems

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Previous logistics, planning and scheduling experience and supervisory background

  • Knowledge and/or experience in applying lean principles

  • Practical technical understanding and good facilitation skills

Working Relationships & Environment

  • Direct supervisory and leadership accountability for the Materials team, including hourly warehouse/supply operators and non-exempt Materials Planner and Logistics Colleagues

  • May supervise others as assigned

  • Reports directly to Materials Manager or Value Stream Manager

  • Collaborates with the Operations Value Stream Leader and Manager to ensure staffing alignment with customer requirements

  • Collaborates with the Operations Value Stream, Support Staff, and members of Management to ensure consistency in achieving goals, administering policies, and sharing best practices for continuous improvement

  • Engages with external suppliers

Work Environment

  • Must be willing to work in production environment

  • Must wear appropriate personal protection as required by plant safety standards

  • Team-based environment that encourages colleague ownership and empowerment, keeping Safety First and Quality Always

  • Occasional travel may be required
