Position Summary

The Maintenance Mechanic will maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. This role will also maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.


•Strong mechanical background as well as electrical skills to troubleshoot circuits, wiring, fuses, etc.

•General Mechanical and Electrical competencies including knowledge of and experience with Pneumatic valves, hydraulic systems, motors and control systems, and various sensing devices

•Able to respond to various equipment conditions, analyze the situation for root cause, and apply the appropriate skill to resolve the issue.

•Knowledgeable and competent in safety disciplines stipulated by OSHA.

•Able to read and interpret electrical/mechanical drawings and schematics.

•Understanding of applicable codes and standards relative to the field (NEC).

•Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Specific Accountabilities

•Repair and maintain automated packaging equipment in a manufacturing environment.

•Troubleshoot and diagnose manufacturing equipment malfunctions and make the necessary mechanical repairs.

•Assist with assembly, setup, debugging and installation of automated machinery.

•Execute preventative maintenance activities.

•Provide equipment care leadership and colleague training on the manufacturing floor.

•Provide suggestions for improvements to the manufacturing process.

•May also perform additional duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

•High school diploma/GED required

•Two (2) or more years of experience as a skilled tradesperson, working in a commercial electrical and mechanical manufacturing setting.

•Ability to lift 50-100 pounds

•Ability to stand for extended periods of time.

Preferred Skills and Experience

•Previous Plant/Warehouse, Packaging, Manufacturing experience preferred but not required

•Welding, fabricating and machining.

•Knowledge of personal computers and software.

Working Relationships & Environment

•Work with machine operators and other mechanics.

•Must be able to work both individually and as a team member

•Good communication skills with team members and management

Work Environment

•Full-time position, 40-hour work week, located in Glenshaw, PA

•Alternate shifts and/or overtime may be required.

•1st Shift: M-F 8a-4:30p, with possible 6a-2:30p

•Must be able to work both individually and as a team member

•Exposure to certain fragrances and/or chemicals may require the use of Personal Protective Equipment

•Must pass background check and drug screen
