Position Summary

This role enables Energizer to be the driving force behind true, incremental market growth by leveraging category and shopper insights to create and deliver actionable plans and solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing insightful and actionable analysis, reports and presentations, as well as participating in the annual planning process for key customers and channels.

Universal Accountabilities

  • Demonstrates category thought leadership

  • Develops compelling trade stories and argumentation that drives category growth

  • Leads key customer category reviews and presentations as the category and shopper expert

  • Supports the development of promotional programs and plans

     

Specific Accountabilities

  • Develops an expert understanding of the category status, trends and drivers together with objectives and strategies of key retailers.

  • Leverages a broad range of shopper and category insights, both global and local, to proactively deliver category, segment and brand analysis and recommendations for customers.

  • Creates and maintains evergreen category fact books and channel/market presentations.

  • Provides key input into all major category reviews, making fact based recommendations on customer and channel assortment, space allocation, layout and in-store communication to grow mutual business.

  • Receives and analyses in depth internal and syndicated data to assess and report on Energizer, competitor and retailer performance in the category.

  • Works with marketing to develop category support and shopper promotional programs in line with Energizer and customer business objectives.

  • Conducts post-promotion analysis to report marketing impact on total category.

  • Monitors business plan delivery for customers, channels or markets with relevant performance indicators.

  • Liaises with International and regional colleagues to share and capitalise on best practices.

     

Required Skills and Experience

  • Degree or above in Business, Marketing or similar discipline.

  • Solid track record of working in consumer goods trade marketing and category management

  • Sound understanding of the role of Insights, Analytics and Shopper Marketing in Category Management

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills

  • Strong computer skills in spreadsheets, databases and presentation software

  • Good knowledge and experience of syndicated data (ACN, GfK)

  • Demonstrated competencies in collaboration, teamwork, critical thinking and achieving results in alignment with business goals.

     

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Sales experience

  • Key customer knowledge

  • Retailer data platforms (e.g. TescoLink, RetailLink and Dunnhumby)

     

Working Relationships & Environment

Reports to Snr. Manager, Category Management. Key relationships internally will include the local marketing and sales teams, commercial leadership, International trade development, Finance and Supply Chain. Externally with customers and data suppliers.
