Position Summary

Support the Senior Technical Accounting & ATR systems Specialist to manage the statutory reporting cycle for the groups UK based entities. In addition, provide further SME statutory support as required to the SSC accounting teams for the remaining EMEA Affiliates and outsourced entities covered by the SSC.

Accountabilities

  • Assist the Senior Technical Accounting & ATR systems Specialist with completion of the groups UK based entities statutory reporting and audit processes.

  • Assist the Senior Technical Accounting & ATR systems Specialist with providing Statutory SME support for the non UK based entities including liaising with professional advisors, the global tax group and external auditors.

  • Internal Controls – Ensure that internal controls are robust to enable timely detection of fraud and errors and to mitigate the risk of fraud and errors being committed, thereby ensuring the integrity and timeliness of Financial Accounting information and in safeguarding the company assets.

  • Compliance – Ensure that all legal entities covered by the SSC comply with all external (Statutes, law, fiscal, Local GAAP, US GAAP, SOX) and internal (Corporate policies) requirements.

  • Processes and Systems – Review and develop existing systems, tools and processes to ensure; Internal Controls are effective, the integrity of financial information, and that services provided to the business are efficient and cost effective.

  • Team - Work collaboratively with Finance & Controllership international and global management to support corporate initiatives. Proactively participate in the sharing of new/innovative practices that enhances efficiency and effectiveness.

Specific Accountabilities

  • This position is responsible for the Statutory reporting processes for the UK group of companies including the Household Principal and for providing technical statutory support for all remaining EMEA Household Affiliates.

  • May also perform additional project work to support corporate initiatives or changes to corporate structure such as acquisitions or disposals.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Qualified Chartered or Certified Public Accountant (or local equivalent).

  • Graduate degree with a strong emphasis on Finance, Accounting and Management preferred. Post-graduate training in management, technical updates and PC applications is desirable.

  • Significant post qualification experience in a mid level Controllership role focusing on Statutory accounting

  • A good level of the English language skills, both orally and in writing.

  • A good level of numeracy and experience performing quantitative and qualitative analysis

  • A medium level of expertise and experience in technical accounting.

  • Superior computer literacy essential together with an good working knowledge of both SAP and Excel

  • Organized, structured, logical, systematic, problem solving and analytical in their approach

  • Confident/Self Starter with a proactive approach to meeting challenges and overcoming obstacles through assuming full ownership.

  • Results and Business Orientated with focus on internal and external deadlines.

  • Proven interpersonal skills to establish excellent working relationship with a wide variety of people at all levels.

  • Flexible and adaptable to change in accordance with business needs

  • Good team player, comfortable working as part of a matrix environment

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience within an organization of similar size and complexity, ideally gained within an FMCG environment

  • Additional European languages are an advantage
