Position Summary

Based in Singapore, and reporting to the Director/Senior Director, Global Logistics, the Senior Manager, APAC Logistics leads the Asia Pacific Logistics organization and is responsible for orchestrating the development and implementation of strategies, in alignment with critical stakeholders, that will improve cost structures while delivering customer service levels and speed to market at or beyond customer expectations. The Sr. Manager, APAC Logistics drives business results through strong collaboration with the Global Logistics team, APAC Supply Chain & Customer Supply Chain functions, cross functional stakeholders, Procurement, third-party logistics providers, and managed services. This role may lead select global initiatives.

Accountabilities

  • Advocate for supply chain excellence by focusing to improve distribution and transportation cost, performance, and customer service levels

  • Has significant influence/collaboration within Global Logistics and APAC SC & CSC teams to plan, develop, align and execute warehousing and distribution regional strategies in alignment with global logistics and global supply chain objectives

  • Accountable for coaching and developing talent within the APAC Logistics team

  • Assures leveraging of industry best practices and organizational knowledge

Specific Accountabilities

  • Leads a team of 20-25 colleagues, including 3-5 direct reports, with accountability for logistics spend of approximately $13MM

  • Leads APAC Logistics, which includes warehouses, ocean freight, and trucking within 9 markets

  • Develops and executes the APAC Logistics functional plan in alignment with the Global Logistics plan, addressing process, technology and organization structure

  • Builds and maintains partnerships with third-party logistics providers to deliver long-term growth and continuous improvements while delivering service

  • Leads logistics service RFP’s and contract renewals for APAC warehousing and transportation in close coordination with Procurement and SC & CSC teams

  • Drives continuous improvement through reduction of total inbound, intercompany and outbound freight spend via improved carrier selection and contracting and improved data/transparency, in alignment with market SC Managers

  • Establishes and leads culture of continuous improvement within APAC Logistics, utilizing lean tools and techniques to eliminate waste

  • Contributes to developing the projects roadmap and directly manages projects including cost reduction, service improvement, facility expansions /relocations /closures, and value-added services

  • Monitors regional logistics spend processes, initiatives, and results

  • KPI Accountability: Logistics spend, supply chain deductions, and customer service levels

  • Member of Global Logistics team and Developing and Distributor Markets Leadership Team

  • May be accountable to lead some select global initiatives

Required Skills and Experience

  • Degree qualified and 8-10 years Supply Chain experience with a minimum of 5 years of logistics experience in a multi-market scope

  • Knowledge of Transportation/Freight Management Systems, Warehouse Management Systems, and Order Management Systems

  • Proven leader capable of long and short term strategic planning, driving positive change across an organization

  • International savvy, able to understand and be sensitive to cross cultural relationships

  • Exposure to and expertise in programs such as Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement practices and the ability to bring those to bear in the logistics environment

  • Strong interpersonal and business communication skills – both written and verbal

  • Strong analytical, organizational and planning skills

  • Experience in international logistics including global transportation, sourcing, and distribution is preferred

Working Relationships & Environment

This role will work closely with Director / Senior Director on International Supply Chain for Modern, Developing and Distributor Markets; Supply Chain Managers, Finance, Procurement and Commercial team regionally.
