Position Summary
Assist in providing a safe, secure, efficient and dependable plant, through maintenance of facility grounds, buildings and equipment along with other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate safe work practices at all times and maintain a safe work environment
Perform daily inspections of critical systems; Identify & report potential facility issues
Perform and document outcome of preventive maintenance tasks
Identify equipment components required for inventory or for scheaduled orders
Assist in identifying and documenting proper maintenance tasks required to ensure reliability and optimum performance
Assist in documenting proper system startup, shutdown and emergency procedures
Act as a hands on liaison with outside contractors ensuring accurate communication
Seek ongoing training to improve support of facility grounds, buildings & equipment
Comply with all company policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned
We we are looking for
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Fundamental understanding of safe electrical & plumbing practices
Understanding of basic construction techniques
Comfortably able to safely work at elevation (roof, boom lift, ladder, etc.)
Possess good communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
Ability to consistently focus on quality of work, attention to detail, organization and orderliness
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Ability to interact with a computer in support of maintenance activities
Proficient in the use of mechanical tools, gauges, and machines
Ability to set priorities and multi-task
Adaptable and dependable
Ability to qualify on and operate facility equipment (fork truck, man lift, etc.)
While performing the duty of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration.
Heavy lifting up to 45 lbs. unassisted is a requirement.
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The noise level and working conditions are similar to those for a manufacturing/warehouse facility.
