Position Summary

Assist in providing a safe, secure, efficient and dependable plant, through maintenance of facility grounds, buildings and equipment along with other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate safe work practices at all times and maintain a safe work environment

  • Perform daily inspections of critical systems; Identify & report potential facility issues

  • Perform and document outcome of preventive maintenance tasks

  • Identify equipment components required for inventory or for scheaduled orders

  • Assist in identifying and documenting proper maintenance tasks required to ensure reliability and optimum performance

  • Assist in documenting proper system startup, shutdown and emergency procedures

  • Act as a hands on liaison with outside contractors ensuring accurate communication

  • Seek ongoing training to improve support of facility grounds, buildings & equipment

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned

We we are looking for

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

  • Fundamental understanding of safe electrical & plumbing practices

  • Understanding of basic construction techniques

  • Comfortably able to safely work at elevation (roof, boom lift, ladder, etc.)

  • Possess good communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to consistently focus on quality of work, attention to detail, organization and orderliness

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision

  • Ability to interact with a computer in support of maintenance activities

  • Proficient in the use of mechanical tools, gauges, and machines

  • Ability to set priorities and multi-task

  • Adaptable and dependable

  • Ability to qualify on and operate facility equipment (fork truck, man lift, etc.)

While performing the duty of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; and vibration.

  • Heavy lifting up to 45 lbs. unassisted is a requirement.

  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • The noise level and working conditions are similar to those for a manufacturing/warehouse facility.
