Position Summary

Responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of manufacturing and plant equipment and systems to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.

This job is located in Marietta, OH. This position reports to the Value Stream Manager.

Will develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing process and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls; coordinate daily manufacturing maintenance.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Design, develop, test, and/or source and cost-justify various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods, Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of machinery and equipment according to specifications.

  • Experience and a solid working knowledge of facility-related maintenance items (e.g., HVAC, cooling towers, chillers, heat pumps, plumbing, compressors, driers, fork trucks, building & grounds, 3 phase and high voltage systems). Manage Oil & Lube Program and oversee MRO Management.

  • Provide assistance to manufacturing operations including troubleshooting of assembly issue, special testing and assistance in identifying root cause

  • After analysis, recommend formal corrective actions to production or product design improvements

  • Lead and coach maintenance personnel on process, equipment, and analytical approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

  • Assist manufacturing in setting up lines and cells to build new and existing products using modern 'lean' manufacturing practices.

  • Develop new processes based on new technology requirements.

  • Coordinate with Engineering and Quality to assure that all Engineering models/drawings and specification are adequate to accurately define all manufacturing and quality requirements to produce a product that meets design requirements.

Required Skills and Experience

  • BS in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related experience with knowledge in the application of basic engineering principles, theories, and techniques.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience.

  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing

  • Hands on experience with electro-mechanical troubleshooting

  • Good communication skills

  • Self-directed and results-oriented

  • Ability to work and lead effectively within a team

  • Experience in a Lean Manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement efforts

  • Broad knowledge of production machinery, machine programming, machining processes,

  • Maintenance or Manufacturing Programs, SAP, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and other common office tools. Experience with L2L Maintenance system a Plus

  • Able to provide technical guidance to maintenance and manufacturing team members

  • Work with Engineering and Quality to improve design and or manufacturing process

  • Able to handle multiple projects at one time and utilize a data-focused approach to problem solving

  • Able to create and maintain assembly and test procedures

  • Be a team builder – listens and considers input from others

  • Strong analytical skill and good organizational skill

  • Effective verbal and written communication skill as well as excellent interpersonal skills

  • Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • MBA or Master’s Degree
