Position Summary

Responsible and accountable for the development of tactical plans to achieve sales, distribution and profitability objectives in Modern and DTT Trade Channel in Puerto Rico. Responsible to develop best practices for all critical areas of sales, merchandising and distribution management. Identify, develop and exploit new profit opportunities. Responsible for the achievement of sales plan and distribution management in Pricesmart.

Ensure that the company's policies, standards and procedures are complied in their respective areas. Always show the principles of ethics that govern the Company when executing responsibilities and daily work.

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for building annual commercial budget and monitoring of the same for its adequate compliance. Net Sales, gross margin, operating expenses in PR and Pricesmart.

  • Identify and exploit new profit opportunities in Puerto Rico accounts such as Walmart, Walgreens, National Supermarkets, Discounts Stores through Distributor Management acumen.

  • Optimum exposure targets of products availability and visibility.

  • Responsible for Account Profitability and customer service levels in Key Accounts.

  • Alignment of Commercial and Business terms with corporate financial goals.

  • Develop the DTT distribution network in the market.

  • Responsible for the accounts receivable of all clients in the country.

  • Responsible for compliance with the Company's policies and regulations

Specific Accountabilities

  • Development of annual sales and distribution plans for the distributors.

  • Accountable for the volume – GM and OP for the market.

  • Analyzes the market to identify opportunities to improve company position.

  • Identifies and develops new opportunities in DTT and Modern Trade Channel to improve business growth and adaptability to market changes.

  • Works with Marketing and Trade Marketing to develop customized trade activities to leverage marketing programs.

  • Ensures high level of brands availability and visibility.

  • Achieve the profit and ensures that distributors discounts and pricing are align with commercial company terms.

  • Developing business in assigned Key Accounts and ensure good customer relations/partnerships.

  • Work with Sr. Sales Manager in the annual negotiation agreements with Key Accounts.

  • Ensures that all merchandising and promotional account agreements are align with company policies and commercial terms approved by the Sr. Sales Manager.

  • Work in the field making account calls and retail store audits and participates with Trade Marketing, Marketing and the Sr. Sales Manager in special and periodic market visits.

  • Ensures follow up over account with due balances and its coordination with Credit - A/R (COE) for its immediate collection.

  • Ensures all reports to Sr. Sales Manager are completed in a timely and quality manner.

  • Prepares total expense budget for the account and ensures that specific budgets is established by distributor and expenses are effectively managed.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Gender Indifferent

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the commercial/sales area.

  • Full command of the Spanish and English (language, spoken and written).

  • Professional Degree related to the position: Business Administration, Marketing, and Industrial Engineering.

  • Experience in managing US National Accounts (such as Wal Mart, Walgreens) through distributor management.

  • Specific knowledge: Microsoft Windows, Office, Internet and email

  • Budget management and Finance knowledge - interpretation of P&L reports.

  • Planning and organizational skills.

  • Strong negotiation, analytical thinking and problem resolution skills.

  • Engagement includes: Marketing, Trade Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Human Resources.

  • Distributors partners, owners, managers, buyers and their sales force.

  • Buyers and Retail Store Managers of Key Accounts in modern trade channel and DTT customers.
