Position Summary

This position will provide assistance to the Zinc Air Anode Development team with various research and development projects in the area of anode process and test development.

This position will provide engineering support for the development of Zinc Air cells. Under the guidance of a Senior Engineer and as part of the Zinc Air Anode team, this employee will help to complete the engineering necessary to successfully deliver an improved anode.


•Process development and scale-up of a lab scale process.

•Plan, analyze and report on experiments.

•Prepare materials for pilot trials.

•Support process development and cell production

Required Skills and Experience

Education and Experience Profile

•Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science program in Chemistry, Material Science or Chemical Engineering; with a minimum sophomore or higher level standing.

Required Skills

•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

•Must be a decisive, action-orientated individual.

•Proven ability to work effectively on teams.

•Proficiency with standard office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.)

Preferred Skills and Experience


•Ability to apply statistical analysis and design of experiments.

•Knowledge of Minitab statistical software.

•Understanding of statistical process control (SPC).

Working Relationships & Environment

•The noise level and working conditions are similar to those for a laboratory/office facility.

•The employee is regularly required to operate equipment that is used to process zinc air batteries from start to completion.

•Some handling of battery chemicals will be necessary, so common laboratory safety and cleanliness procedures will need to be followed.

•The employee must desire to work in a highly motivated and fast-paced team environment, where priorities and tasks can change daily.
