Position Summary

The Senior Director, International Finance partners with Energizer’s International Area Chief Business Officer and is responsible for developing the International Area F&C organization, overseeing all aspects of financial strategy and managing the flow of financial information to key stakeholders.

To succeed, you’ll need a breadth of technical Financial skill; have the interpersonal skills to quickly establish an honest, trusted relationship with senior commercial leaders while challenging remotely; and you’ll also be a change agent as Energizer continues in our evolution to become a world-class, modern, technology-led Finance function.

You’ll be employed in one of our key operating markets, but the role has the flexibility to work-from-home and we are open to considering high caliber applicants in multiple locations due to the wide span of timezones that this role covers. The culture at Energizer is fast-paced, with an extremely high degree of remote collaboration.

Some International travel is required for this role, and flexibility across non-standard business hours will be essential.


  • Collaborating as a Business Partner to the Chief Business Officer – International and supporting him to drive the business as we continue our growth plan

  • Developing the International Area F&C organization which includes a range of Modern, Developing and Distributor markets

  • Overseeing all financial aspects of financial strategy for the International Area and managing the flow and interpretation of financial information to key stakeholders

  • Contributing fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers

  • Formulating and agreeing financial targets and budgets in accordance with business strategy

  • Enthusiastically participating as a member of the International Area Leadership team

  • Assessing and sharing macroeconomic trends and future impacts to minimize risk

  • Management of three product categories with net sales of US$800M

Required Skills and Experience

  • Undergraduate Degree in Business Management, Finance or Accounting, or equivalent, with any further education being advantageous

  • Professional accreditation from a recognized accountancy body most likely (CPA; CIMA; ACCA etc)

  • Significant and progressive experience in a finance management position in a multi-national corporation

  • Inclusive, supportive, interpersonal skills with a commitment to developing others

  • Working knowledge of SAP and Central Finance

  • Hyperion Planning Experience would be beneficial

  • Proven ability to operate successfully in a full and complex matrix organization

  • Evidence of successfully reporting results and collaborative partnering skill to influence up and down the organization

  • Team Leadership and Development, both in the technical capacity, and driving cultural change

  • Innovative and Strategic Thinking capabilities

  • Ability to adapt quickly to the Consumer industry

  • Experience of managing across multiple geographies including experience across both Mature/Developed and Emerging markets

Working Relationships & Environment

This role reports to the Vice President, Global Finance (located in St Louis) and supports the Chief Business Officer, International (located in Dusseldorf).

The role leads a high-performing organization of 85 colleagues across 15+ countries spanning Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
