Energizer Production Supervisor – 3rd Shift in Portage, Wisconsin

Position Summary

Oversee hearing aid battery production operations and supervise 20-30 Union employees on 3rd shift.    


• Assure attainment of production schedule while complying with safety & environmental standards, quality standards and product specifications

• Analyze and resolve production issues

• Plan and direct resources to obtain daily production success

• Interview, orientate, train, motivate, discipline and coach employees

• Maintain accurate time keeping & training records.

• Facilitate, promote and implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives

• Assist in the preparation and implementation of cost improvement initiatives

• Support the Plant Metrics and department goals & objectives

• Maintain a clean & safe working environment

• Comply with all company policies and procedures

• Perform other duties as assigned

Specific Accountabilities

• Direct supervision of 20-30 Union employees

• Understanding and consistent enforcement of the collective bargaining agreement

• Emergency coordinator for 3rd shift

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong leadership and inter-personal skills

• Excellent communication skills; oral and written

• Ability to work independently and creatively

• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access

• Ability to read and interpret written documents

• Attention to detail, initiative and ability to implement decisions with minimal supervision

• Understanding of machine controls, manufacturing processes, terminology, workflow, Lean Manufacturing and 5S initiatives

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Preferred candidates will have a two-year supervisory/technical degree and three or more years of direct supervisory experience in a Manufacturing setting

• Previous experience using SAP

Working Relationships & Environment

Working Relationships

• Reports to plant Sr. Production Manager

• Interface with hourly colleagues, other shift Supervisors, Engineers and other plant personnel

Work Environment

• Work takes place in fast-paced, deadline oriented, clean & climate controlled production environment

• Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment including hearing protection in certain departments

• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently 25 pounds, and occasionally 50 pounds

• Regularly required to stand and walk

• Use of hands/fingers to grasp or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear

• Vision abilities include color vision, close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

• This position will require the need to periodically work overtime, including weekends
