The Quality Technician position is responsible for providing quality support to the shift/department supervisors, engineers and operators throughout the facility. This is a 2nd shift position primarily working 2pm - 10pm Monday - Friday.
Perform quality inspections including dimensional measurements and visual audits
Record data in Infinity and Quality Databases
Contain non-conforming product
Prepare samples per test schedules and special request
Monitor data collected during the manufacturing process
Investigate assignable cause and corrective action for problematic issues
Communicate feedback to operators concerning product quality
Comply with all company policies and procedures, including attendance and performance expectations
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required
Assess equipment status for current calibration, cleanliness, and gauge wear
Update and maintain quality work instruction and control plans
Assist operators in proper measurement techniques and statistical process control
Required Skills and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent
Basic computer skills including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook and Access
Exceptional communication (written & verbal)
Ability to maintain a positive functional relationship with employees at all levels of the organization
Ability to prioritize daily job tasks effectively
Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and strong multi-tasking abilities
Preferred Skills and Experience
Technical degree in related field
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Experience working in a quality-related role
Skilled in using Minitab, Microsoft Access, Infinity QS and SAP or similar programs
Working knowledge of statistical process control
Working Relationships & Environment
Reports to Quality Supervisor
Interface with hourly colleagues, shift Supervisors, Managers, Engineers, and other Quality Technicians
All work takes place in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented production environment
Work activities will take place within a temperature and humidity-controlled production floor or in an office environment setting
The colleague will regularly be required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
The colleague must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to view parts using a microscope up to 40x
The colleague will be cross trained in various departments within the facility
This position will require the need to work overtime, including weekends
