Position Summary

The Buyer position is involved in supporting, leading, and executing aspects of procurement category strategies and contract management.

The Buyer is required to have experience in sourcing materials and/or services, strong analytical skills with experience using Excel to conduct quantitative analysis along with experience of managing negotiations.

Accountabilities

Will be involved in all aspects of Indirect Procurement (market intelligence, spend analytics, sourcing, category management and contracting), across Energizer’s global locations and footprint.

Must be able to support key enterprise initiatives such as cost savings, cost avoidance, working capital and supplier rationalization.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Manages sourcing strategy in line with Energizers 7-Step Sourcing Approach, including conducting opportunity analysis, data collection, RFI and RFP’s, utilizing Ariba e-procurement.

  • Supports and independently executes supplier negotiations, including contract renewals, cost reduction, value creation and cash flow improvement.

  • Manages day-to-day stakeholder relationship activities, including SAP and SRM queries.

  • Proactively drives compliance to Energizer’s procurement policy and processes.

  • Supports Energizer’s financial and compliance risk management program.

  • Implements company procurement initiatives and supports global projects.

  • Interfaces with US legal department to ensure the contract approval process is managed and the correct signatory level is obtained.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Procurement experience – including 3+ years of demonstrated success in managing projects.

  • Experience in planning and conducting negotiations.

  • Reasonable commercial and legal understanding of contracts.

  • Collaborative skills to work with other company departments.

  • Excellent analytical and Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Good organizational and planning ability, managing multiple projects.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to present in business-friendly language and formats.

  • Can demonstrate motivation to drive personal development.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Indirect procurement experience in any of the following functions: Information Technology, Human Resources, Corporate Services and Travel

  • Experience in other areas of Indirect Procurement: e.g. Marketing, Facilities Management, MRO/Capex.

  • Knowledge of SAP and Ariba is desirable.

  • Experience in the Strategic Sourcing process

  • Influencing skills: the ability to adapt style to suit the audience

  • Managing stakeholders, suppliers and negotiation

  • Educated to degree level

Working Relationships & Environment

  • Reports to the Global Sr. Category Manager

Work Environment

  • Travel (as needed) – less than 5% in total
