Energizer Associate Data Architect in Saint Louis, Missouri

Position Summary

  • The Associate Data Architect is a critical addition to Energizer’s analytics-driven business strategy. The role reports to a Data Architect and will combine expertise in data engineering with growing expertise in data architecture practices and solid business acumen to unlock value within the ecosystem of Energizer. This person will work with a team of high caliber analysts, data science, and business analyst professionals within the Enterprise Data and Analytics team as well as across the broader organization.

  • The Associate Data Architect will partner with key stakeholders to continue developing and broadening Energizer’s analytics technical foundation. This technical foundation facilitates descriptive and contextual analytics products such as dashboards, scorecards, and visualizations to our business partners. Leveraging experience in data engineering best practices, s/he will help lead the team in designing and providing methods for moving forward into predictive and prescriptive analytics.

  • The Associate Data Architect is a growth role intended to be a significant step forward in this person’s career. You will be expected to keep abreast of emerging trends and assess the applicability of those opportunities to Energizer’s analytics ecosystem. This person will continuously improve upon and implement standards for code reviews, production-ready data ingestion and data processing methods, performance tuning, and data modeling.

Accountabilities

  • 80% - Architecture & Engineering Standards: Key member of a team that designs and implements the data and technical foundation of Energizer’s suite of analytics reports, dashboards, and data science applications.

  • 10% - Program Management: Acts as a cross-functional strategic partner in aligning program resources and priorities. Translates data and analytics needs from business partners into executable programs and ensures successful implementation.

  • 5% - Communication: Develops and presents to multiple levels of departmental leadership, cross-functional groups, peers, and functional groups of associates in support of special projects and strategic initiatives.

  • 5% - Strategic Planning: Participate in the development and maintenance of mid to long-range strategic road maps, creating requisite business cases,

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field; or relevant experience

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years experience in data architecture, data engineering, business intelligence, and/or analytics development.

  • 5+ years experience in database/SQL development and performance tuning, with strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (on-prem or cloud) and related products (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, PowerBI).

  • Emerging experience with cloud-based database and analytics technologies and resources (Azure, AWS, or GCP), such as ADLS, BigQuery, and Azure Synapse Analytics.

  • Experience and proven track record in deploying and scaling data engineering techniques to drive business value (customer experience, supply chain, marketing, pricing, etc.).

  • An ability to think across application, data, and infrastructure landscapes to determine appropriate and scalable solutions.

  • Demonstrated success engaging with business partners for advanced analytics and working with a wide range of data to drive business value.

  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal form. The position is designed to interact with numerous departments aiding them in the proper application of data, leading to functional improvement.

  • A passion for research and data; highly skilled in performing quantitative analyses on various business functions; for example, on consumer behavior and trends.

  • HR, Supply Chain, Category Analytics, and/or Marketing experience, including familiarity with web, social, and mobile marketing is desirable.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and exceptional problem-solving skills; comfortable in a cross-functional setting with an ability to remain calm and composed under stress and uncertainty, inspiring the same within his/her sphere of influence. S/he also has an ability to make strong, lasting, and meaningful connections with others, which will aid in the execution of duties in this highly collaborative role.
