Position Summary

The Associate Manager, Global Marketing – Household Batteries, partners to help create the vision and execute the action plan to achieve brand, share, sales, and profit goals of the household batteries segment. This position supports strategic marketing cycle planning, product innovation development, consumers insights and consumer messaging and acts as an expert for the respective segments from a 4P perspective (product, packaging, pricing and placement) in the lithium, recharge, and carbon zinc segments.

The Associate Brand Manager is a critical member of the global team and will support the Energizer®, Rayovac, and Eveready brands. This role requires strategic thinking, the ability to build close working relationships with a wide variety of cross-functional team members around the world, strong influencing skills, and a high-attention to detail to deliver wins for consumers and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop recommendations and gain alignment to support the overall product strategy aligned with the brand strategy based on company, consumer, competitive, and marketplace dynamics for the lithium, recharge, and carbon zinc segments

  • Support the development and execution of the 3-year product innovation cycle plan serving as the primary liaison to R&D to ensure alignment, technical capabilities, consumer claims development, substantiation, etc.

  • Support product initiatives from initial scoping phase through the entire Stage Gate process until final implementation and delivery. Includes cross-functional team leadership, project management, financial reviews, key milestones and critical issues identification, leadership presentations and reviews, etc.

  • Support and drive collaboration to deliver annual global marketing plans that support product initiatives / key projects to include: consumer rationale, supporting area assets, pricing strategies, marketing guidelines, trade selling stories, and more.

  • Partner with Consumer Insights team to uncover consumer needs/perceptions as related to the sub-segment, trends, claims, product ideas and build differentiated, relevant opportunities for the brand.

  • Develop and deliver engaging presentations as part of global to area deployment process

  • Serve as key knowledge expert and resource for household batteries and associated projects and respond with a sense of urgency to priority internal and external ‘customer’ requests. Seek to build knowledge and internal relationships to assist in responsiveness.

  • Facilitate communication between Global and Area Marketing by developing strong relationships with Activation Leaders through regular contact, securing appropriate feedback on cycle plans, claims, etc.

  • Lead some key product initiatives and work associated with the Global Marketing Household batteries segment.

  • May also perform additional duties as assigned

  • CPG background preferred

  • Exposure and understanding of global marketplace dynamics and considerations

  • Previous experience in retail and/or strategic consumer communication planning and development

What we are looking for

  • 4-year degree preferred with an emphasis on Business, Marketing, or equivalent experience.

  • 4-6 years of brand marketing experience

  • English proficiency required

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Outstanding project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet cost, quality, and schedule expectations

  • Strong ability to think critically and analytically

  • Strong ability to influence and build relationships

  • Ability to take initiative and self-direct

  • Ability to effectively work cross-functionally and communicate to internal and external teams

  • Produce high-quality work in a fast-paced dynamic environment

  • Proactive and solution-oriented with a strong sense of urgency

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Nimble and agile approach to adjust to changing consumer preferences and business strategies
