Position Summary
The National Account Manager, Amazon - Automotive Care, develops Commercial programs, relationships, and processes that drive sales, margin, and share for Amazon US and Amazon Canada. This position will be responsible for day-to-day Customer and Platform Management. This role requires a self-starter who enjoys the daily challenge of continuously earning category leadership.
This is an Individual Contributor role that leads our Amazon US and Canada, Customer Team - comprised of eight cross functional experts and our digital agency focused on the Automotive Categories.
This business sells on Amazon via 1P and 3P, (Vendor Central and Seller Central).
Responsibilities
Develop Category-specific customer strategy and manage Customer relationship
Acquire an understanding of customer needs for the category and identify the organizational competencies and requirements to win
Develop and execute annual business plans that achieve and stretch customer & Energizer goals / objectives
Serve as the customer’s primary point of contact for the category and develop relationships at every level
Define and drive Amazon customer category-specific business objectives
Develop Amazon-specific category strategies, business plans, and goals; identify growth opportunities based on an understanding of the Amazon platform
Build a partnership with category Vendor Managers and attend key meetings as an Amazon and Energizer expert
Design and deploy best practices for Automotive Care regarding Merchandising, Promotions, and Test & Learns, optimizing with a “Plan, Do, Check, Act” process
Collaborate with Digital Media Lead, Insights Lead, and Content Lead to design and deliver best-in-class assortment
Collaborate with Finance and Pricing & Revenue Management colleagues to deliver a balanced Customer P&L
Manage all customer contracts, trade fund management, and promotion ROI analysis
Execute across the value chain to deliver customer strategy and achieve objectives
Lead the Amazon Automotive Customer Team and foster productive relationships with cross functional stakeholders
Manage Customer assortment and pricing; communicate regularly with Commercial and Area Marketing teams to manage channel conflict / ensure alignment
Collaborate with Digital Media Lead to execute efficient and effective and visibility strategy
Own customer support for the category, including logistics, order processing and fulfillment; coordinate with Integrated Supply Chain colleagues to forecast demand and ensure ability to fulfill obligations
Communicate marketplace and competitive knowledge regularly with stakeholders to recommend optimizations and share learnings
Grow Amazon Share, Sales, and Margin faster than the Category average
Develop annual eCommerce category business plans and targets; gain Customer Team alignment and support
Achieve category-specific KPI targets as agreed upon by Director Digital Economy, Amazon
Utilize Amazon Retail Analytics, Category data, and Digital Media data to manage platform performance, including retail price movements and competitive dynamics
Manage item catalog, including item level management, new item setup, product detail page optimization
Define and lead successful Annual Vendor Negotiation process
Manage travel and expense budget
May perform other duties as assigned
What we are looking for
Bachelor’s degree or related work experience
3-5 years related work experience
Amazon.com sales and marketing experience ideal – demonstrated track record of leading successful Vendor Negotiations
Ability to understand Customer P&L / business levers, manage trade funds, and drive toward KPIs
Ability to balance Customer, Consumer, and Shareholder perspectives at the same time
Positive attitude and ability to receive and provide coaching / feedback
Ability to intelligently + respectfully challenge convention, influence decisions, and drive change
Ability to take initiative and self-direct
Significant Amazon Customer Management experience a plus
Ability to set and achieve goals
Ability to travel 10% of the time to customer meetings and industry events under ‘normal’ circumstances
Experience managing eCommerce platforms/ businesses (Vendor Central, Amazon Retail Analytics) preferred
Negotiation (Customer Contracts, Annual Terms, Promotional Engagements) preferred
Category Management (Pricing Analysis, Assortment Analysis, Market Share Analysis) preferred
Organic, Paid Search optimization (AMS) preferred
Excel (Pivot Tables, Formatting)
