Position Summary

The Regulatory Manager on the Global Auto Care business is responsible to develop and maintain an extensive compliance program in Asia Pacific for our automotive aftermarket products and setting the strategic regulatory vision to help develop products that will delight consumers and deliver topline growth and bottom line savings.

Accountabilities

  • Work collaboratively with R&D, Legal, Packaging and Supply Chain team to develop and implement extensive regulatory strategies

  • Represent RD&E on cross functional product development and commercialization teams, providing professional guidance on local market regulatory requirements, risk assessments and strategies

  • Ensure local market compliance of new and existing products

  • Research regulatory requirements and provide regulatory guidance text for local market labels

  • Review and approve claims, packaging/labeling, and marketing communication materials

  • Remain current with emerging/changing regulations, interpret complex information and summarize impact for other functions/leadership teams, in a clear, concise and attentive manner

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of regulatory team processes to encourage efficiency and enable product development timelines

  • Conduct raw material and formula reviews

  • Industry trade group representation and government interaction; Provide required documentation to applicable agencies

  • Represent Energizer Global Auto Care as a subject matter professional in trade association committees and industry task forces/working groups

  • Safety datasheet creation

  • Chemical use advice to Research and Development during product formulation

  • Modification and maintenance of database for product information

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science degree, with Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology or Chemical Engineering preferred, with 5 years or more career experience and understanding of safety data sheets and chemical formulations

  • Significant knowledge of global chemicals regulations and Safety Data Sheets (Asia, Australia, and New Zealand) pertaining to product ingredients, packaging, shipping requirements and label claims

  • Excellent English language fluency; communication both verbal and written, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft IT packages (Word, Excel, Powepoint, Outlook, etc.)

  • Detail oriented to produce accurate and timely results

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work independently

  • Ability to change focus quickly and apply general guidance to varied situations

  • Collaborative, team player

  • Experience in consumer goods (preferably chemical) would be a plus

Working Relationships & Environment

  • Reports to Regulatory Manager – International (in EU)

  • Key relationships internally will include Regulatory Affairs, Marketing, Research and Development, Commercial Teams and Legal

  • External engagement with 3rd party testing labs and government representatives, and external suppliers.
