Position Summary

The Assistant Manager, Trade Marketing and Revenue Growth are responsible for developing channel assortment strategies to minimize customer risk and improve profitability, as well as enhancing and executing Energizer’s strategic pricing structure across Batteries, Auto Care, and Lights. A central focus will be on accessing and analyzing company and customer data to provide recommendations on pricing and assortment practices across the North American Commercial organization.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Finance, Area Marketing, and Category Development to execute improvements in pricing and assortment practices; influence for revenue and margin growth

  • Demonstrate thought leadership in developing trade insights that are actionable

  • Build metric-driven scorecards to showcase improvements in distribution, profitability, and risk

  • Assist with the development of Trade Marketing materials, communications, and selling stories for our Commercial Teams.

  • Recommend and enforce unilateral pricing policies as appropriate

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the Commercial organization in order to bring value-added learnings

  • Use storytelling techniques to share data in a way that influences better decisions for our customer sales teams

  • Use a combination of analytical and communication skills to develop recommendations, influence Commercial decisions, and govern related processes

  • Share best practices across customer and channel teams

  • Perform additional ad hoc projects as needed

  • Develop, automate, monitor, and report metrics

  • May perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

  • Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience in Pricing Analytics, Finance, Trade Marketing, and/or Category Management

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, working knowledge of Power BI

  • Ability to combine multiple data sets using advanced Excel functions and generating data-driven insights

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required

  • Excellent attitude, interpersonal and communications skills

  • Strong analytical experience/ability with a passion for numbers and solving problems

  • Influential leadership and results-oriented with a proven track record of delivering against expectations

  • Strong objectivity and ability to make decisions based on facts and supporting rationale

  • Ability to influence without having direct authority

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Finance, Category Management, Revenue Management, and/or Sales experience

  • Consumer products background preferred

  • Nielsen / IRI, Business Objects, SAP ad hoc reporting

  • Ability to create and deliver presentations (for deployments).

Working Relationships & Environment

  • Reports to Senior Manager, Trade Marketing & Revenue Growth.

  • Key relationships internally will include Sales, Marketing, Finance, Area Leadership Teams, and Category Development.
