In this position, you will be focused on the timely and accurate reconciliation of customer short payments or deductions within department standards. This position will involve research of a high volume of deductions each period to determine validity, obtain necessary internal approvals and charge to appropriate business unit. Lastly, you will also support team initiatives to create process improvements and functional efficiencies within deduction management.
High daily volume of deduction review, research and coding of customer debits
Strong understanding of AR remittances and payment processing
Must be able to multi task with multiple internal partners on a consistent basis
Personally responsible for a portfolio of customers to track and report on to management
Reviews daily new debits posted to deduction ledgers
Does pre work in the areas of coding, sorting, assigning as needed
Daily high volume of research on customer specific reasons for shore payments
Communicate daily with commercial and broker teams to process and approve promo deductions
Investigate warehouse documents, bills of lading and other shipping documents for shortage claims
Review internal pricing data for potential closing, chargeback or credit/rebill due to pricing discrepancies
Investigate and review customer over payments that may relate to open deduction items
Interface with cash application analysts and credit team for data to close open deductions
Work with several other deduction analysts to improve handling procedures and back each other up
Required Skills and Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Accounts Receivable or equivalent financial services environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word & Powerpoint
High school degree is required
Prior experience on a large entity platform and organization
Preferred Skills and Experience
Bachelor's (4 year undergraduate) or Associate's (2 year undergraduate) degree in business preferred
Basic accounting skills should be demonstrated in prior roles
SAP experience preferred
Demantra experience preferred
Working Relationships & Environment
- Will work daily internally with Supply Chain, Credit Team, AR Analysts, Commercial Team, Brokers, Logistics/Freight Team and externally with carriers, warehouses and customers.
