The Legal Sr. Assistant role will provide day-to-day operational support for all functions of the Legal department. This role will have exposure to all Legal colleagues on every level and will work closely with each to help deliver on operational excellence.
Change and Innovation
Strong Attention to Detail
Works closely with the Legal Operations Manager and the Legal Systems Coordinator on routine departmental tasks, including invoicing and purchase order management, coordination of new colleague onboarding, and maintenance of the department’s data stores
Serves as back-up for the Legal Systems Coordinator with regard to Legal systems access, troubleshooting, and implementations
Assists with global entity management documentation and related data entry
Manages the new vendor setup process with outside counsel
Creates and distributes metrics reports and analysis
Monitors process changes throughout the department
Facilitates enterprise-wide compliance training programs
Schedules department meetings and coordinates agendas
Handles sorting, scanning, downloading, copying, mailing, and document systems clean-up projects
Precise execution of projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with minimal direction and supervision
Obtains electronic and wet signatures on Legal and other business documents
Performs discrete data gathering/update and document management projects with various members of the Legal team
Performs additional administrative duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience with emphasis in administrative, business, or legal
+5 years of experience working in a law firm, corporate law group, or other related legal environment; or legal studies in an academic setting
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to efficiently determine important legal information that needs to be reviewed
Strong oral and written communication skills when communicating with attorneys and paralegals
Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced computing skills in Microsoft Excel
Experience with electronic invoicing and document management systems
Experience managing vendors and leading technical projects
Ability to prioritize tasks
Legal software programs experience
Preferred Skills and Experience
Project management experience
Experience in the consumer products or manufacturing industry is preferred
Basic proficiency with SharePoint and electronic signature systems
Basic exposure to business and/or legal operations
Working Relationships & Environment
Reports to the Legal Operations Manager
Works side-by-side with every member of the Legal department and often interacts with other functional colleagues, including those on the Executive team
Minimal travel required
May require meetings outside of regular business hours to coordinate with global partners
Located in St. Louis, MO – Corporate Headquarters
