Position Summary

This is a new global Human Resource Leadership role due to Energizer's growing categories and footprint as well as our focus on culture and leadership. The position is a Senior Human Resources Business Partner supporting global manufacturing and supply chain.  The HR Business Partner role has four equally important facets: strategic partnership, employee advocate, change agent, and employee experience.

The Sr. HR Director role provides human resources leadership and guidance in the areas of leadership coaching, organizational change management, performance management, organizational effectiveness, recruitment, and rewards.  It also involves managing and supporting a series of enterprise-wide initiatives, championing talent development and other HR Transformation initiatives.  This position will provide extensive partnership to the leaders of Energizer's global Integrated Supply Chain which includes manufacturing, supply chain, and procurement.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Provide HR leadership in all aspects of business strategy to create structure, business processes, performance systems, solutions and metrics aimed at executing business goals and developing our colleagues.

  • Lead and develop a team of global HR Business Partners who support our colleagues.  

  • Lead and develop a cohesive global team of HR Business Partners, working in a collaborative manner that promotes sharing of best practices

  • Provide insights to HR Specialty peers to align overall HR strategies with location- and function-specific requirements. Partner with Talent and Rewards to deliver against key objectives and initiatives that build capability.

  • Build meaningful, value-added relationships with senior leaders, influence and coach leadership in effectively managing human capital.

  • Partner within HR and the business to develop strategic solutions to recruitment, people development, and retention issues; including building bench strength and ensuring we place the right people are in the right jobs. This includes talent reviews, succession planning, calibration reviews and performance management.

  • Serve as a change agent and consultant to leaders in support of Energizer's strategy, culture and values.

  • Develop a culture of empowerment, trust and innovation based in analytics based decision making and an expectation of high performance

  • Ensure legal compliance and mitigate the Company's risk in HR matters.

  • Promote organizational effectiveness through identification of organizational redundancies, establish clear processes and communication; provide organizational structure solutions based on changing business needs.

  • Perform these and other duties in a very proactive, enthusiastic and responsible manner, constantly demonstrating the HR strategic business value in alignment with Energizer's vision, mission and strategies.

Required Skills and Experience

Required skills and experience include:

  • BS or BA In Human Resources, Business or another related field

  • +10 years of global Human Resources and business partnership experience

  • Ability to lead and coach virtual teams across multiple countries & cultures

  • Global leadership deploying and scaling models in new geographies

  • Broad HR skills, experience and areas of expertise; Experience should include the development and day-to-day management of some of the following:

o Coaching

o Change management

o Performance management

o Organizational effectiveness and development

o Recruitment

o Compensation

  • Strong influencing skills: The individual will regularly be faced with a variety of differing opinions from line managers on the various aspects of human resource management. The successful candidate will need strong influencing skills and the ability/courage to work through a variety of differing viewpoints.  Must have the judgment to know when to stand one's ground and when to compromise.  Ability to relate to a broad spectrum of people and unite various groups across a large geographical remit.

  • Independent and self-motivated: This individual should be self-motivated and hard-working, able to function largely on his or her own with minimal day-to-day direction from the immediate supervisor.

  • Decisive, analytical and curious: Strong decision-making skills and a natural intellectual curiosity will be important traits. Must be able to make quick decisions, sometimes based on limited information.

  • Customer-focused: The individual must recognize that the purpose of the HR function is to deliver practical, effective tools and solutions that solve real-world business needs while helping to build a stronger, more effective business. 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Global experience living or managing a diverse team outside the US

  • MBA or Master's Degree

  • Human Resource Certification

  • Success Factors experience

  • Experience in HR specialty such as compensation, benefits, talent acquisition or talent development in addition to HR Business partnering.

Working Relationships & Environment

Working Relationships

  • The role reports to the Chief Human Capital Officer who has responsibility for global talent who also works in the St. Louis, MO Corporate Headquarters.

  • The role will have HR Business partner direct reports who are located outside St. Louis

  • The role will interface regularly with others in the HR function, particularly in the areas of talent development and compensation/benefits along with functional leaders.

  • Collaborate with global HR team to ensure provide leaders global HR support

Work Environment

  • Located in St. Louis Missouri Energizer Corporate Headquarter

  • Travel Requirements (25%).
