Position Summary

The role is responsible for leading the development and deployment of an effective, strategic and engaging communications program for the company’s internal stakeholders. The individual in this role will ensure all messages are aligned with Energizer’s mission, business strategies and external messaging, and will serve as an advisor for communications and change management for the executive team. The position also will aid in the development of messages and activities which reflect the company’s core values and social responsibility initiatives and will coordinate with our agency of record on external relations matters. This position will report directly to the VP, Communications, and will partner cross functionally with the Global Executive Team, Human Resources, Marketing, Commercial, Legal and other departments on key business initiatives.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Drive development and execution of internal communications strategy in alignment with overall company strategy to win the hearts and minds of over 5,000 colleagues while integrating annual business objectives into a tangible and measurable communications plan to gauge success;

  • Develop and/or coordinate integrated communications plan associated with M&A and subsequent integration activities;

  • Draft and edit press releases, speeches, presentations, and other executive communications for internal constituencies including townhall meetings and other company-wide messaging to reach a global internal audience;

  • Partner with public relations agencies and provide internal coordination and leadership visibility to address external corporate reputation issues, crisis management, and external media needs;

  • Aid in building communication strategies to introduce new products and enhance external brand and company reputation including corporate social responsibility and philanthropic initiatives;

  • Coordinate with IT and other external vendors to manage the company’s internal and external corporate website, including content generation, design and ongoing maintenance;

  • Provide communications counsel and support to business leaders in the field that align with corporate messaging;

  • Partner with internal and external resources to maintain/develop/refresh templates for various internal communications platforms including InDesign, PPT, Word, etc. Support the design, development and publication of newsletters and other materials for internal use;

  • Proactively manage organization-wide communications cadence and leadership visibility to critical internal or external issues to win hearts and minds of our colleagues.

  • Partner with Key Human Resources Leaders globally to ensure alignment of communication with Energizer culture, values and behaviors as well as look for opportunities for Leaders to engage with colleagues to ensure authentic value added communication and support change management.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Journalism, Communications, English or other related discipline.

  • 8+ years’ experience in communications role.

  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively in written and oral communications.

  • Fluent English plus one other language desirable.

  • Strong Project Management and change management skills.

  • Good time management skills.

  • Reports to Chief Growth Officer

  • This position currently has two direct reports: Communications Specialist and Communication Specialist.

  • Key relationships internally will include the Global Executive Team, Talent Development Team, Legal, HR Business Partners and Functional Business Leaders.

  • Key relationships externally will include external vendors and public relations agencies.

Work Environment

  • Minimal travel required.

  • May require meetings outside normal business hours of 8-5 pm.

  • Located in St. Louis, MO, Energizer Holdings, Inc. corporate headquarters.
