Position Summary

Energizer is looking for a strong, qualified candidate to lead and manage media for its digital commerce operations. The Manager, Digital Commerce Media role sits within Energizer’s commercial function and reaches across the global organization and requires digital media expertise, strategic thinking, agility, collaboration, and creativity. For key omnichannel and pureplay accounts in North America and Western Europe respectively, this colleague will develop a media strategy, lead campaign executions, as well as, serve as the agency partner in buying and executing the media plan, seeking to drive product visibility and conversion. This colleague will partner directly with commercial account leaders, shopper marketing teams, and the global media team to execute and ensure all activities are delivering against the account objectives as well as linked to larger media efforts within the organization.

A successful candidate must display a strong passion for digital media planning and execution, a desire to be creative and think outside of the box, strong analytical skills to be able to review multiple metrics, draw insights and tie back to the business strategies. They should also display adaptability to new technologies and be aligned with our culture of working together as one team to deliver results.


  • Support Media and Digital Center of Expertise, including strategy and planning efforts

  • Drive cross-category media campaign discussions to identify opportunity areas and drive collaboration across categories, brands, and channels

  • Drive agency coordination and media buying activities

Specific Accountabilities

  • Leads / oversees media spends across several pureplay accounts and omnichannel accounts, driving visibility on the digital shelf and beyond

  • Leads / oversees media strategy development in concert with business strategy by account

  • Executes tactics to drive product visibility and conversion (e.g., sponsored products, in-site search, banner ads); deploys tactics to optimize search optimization

  • Deploys digital test and learns for online tactics to win the buy box and identifies projects to continuously improve metrics (e.g., different layout, product photos)

  • Collaborates with analytics and content team to evaluate opportunities to optimize content and provides best practices on digital visual merchandising

  • Identify trends/insights to optimize media spend and performance, develop conversion points and optimize user funnels

  • Owns trade/shopper and allocated A&P budget (where applicable) and manages appropriately, coordinating with internal finance teams

  • Owns agency relationships and partners to drive execution in alignment with strategy

  • Conducts regular performance reporting to account teams in weekly and bi-weekly meetings

  • Performs periodic performance reporting through analytics and KPIs to the leadership

  • Works to resolve day to day media issues, interfacing with media agencies, vendors, and internal stakeholders

  • Identifies new and creative growth strategies in media space

  • May also perform additional duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

  • 4-year degree required with an emphasis on Business, Marketing; MBA preferred

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in media planning and buying, specifically in the digital space

  • Strategic thinker, strong analytical capabilities and ability to review KPIs, develop insights, make connections with different results and tie it back to the business strategy and objectives, team player

  • Demonstrable experience in Amazon Advertising, Walmart Advertising, and other retail auction-based PPC and DSP advertising products

  • Demonstrable experience in leading digital marketing campaigns

  • Experience developing, planning, and defending rationale for media investments by region and customer

  • Exposure and understanding of e-commerce retail business including item setup, product detail page content, and inventory impacts to media

  • Ability to take initiative and self-direct

  • Ability to effectively work cross-functionally and communicate to internal and external teams

  • Nimble and agile approach to adjust to changing consumer preferences and business strategies

  • Produce high-quality work in a fast-paced dynamic environment

  • Proactive and solution-oriented with a strong sense of urgency

  • Curiosity for the ever-changing media landscape, dynamic nature of e-commerce business model, and a passion for understanding and staying ahead of the trends

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • CPG background preferred

  • Exposure and understanding of global marketplace dynamics and considerations

Working Relationships & Environment

  • Reports to Digital Economy director, reporting through Americas Commercial organization

  • Key relationships internally will include Chief Business Officer (Americas), Digital Economy (Commercial), Shopper Marketing (Commercial), Global Media (Marketing), Account Teams (Commercial)

Work Environment

  • Travel requirements (up to 20%); will depend on location

  • Remotely located
