Position Summary
As the HR Generalist, you'll be responsible for overseeing HR operations related to benefits, time management, and leave administration functions. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while upholding exceptional service. Working closely with HR Shared Services, you'll manage monthly payroll processing and assist with various HR administrative tasks and ad-hoc operational duties. You will regularly engage with employees and provide assistance to colleagues at the managerial level and below in Singapore regarding employee relations, payroll, and benefits matters. You will also support the Plant HR Manager (based in Singapore) in facilitating communication regarding HR programs and updates.
Responsibilities
Specific Accountabilities
Manage end-to-end payroll processing in collaboration with HR shared services, ensuring strict adherence to Singapore legislative standards and timely salary payment in alignment with regulatory requirements. Administer the time attendance system to accurately track employee hours.
Handle leavers' settlements and tax clearance for departing foreign employees, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
Ensure HR transactions follow established policies, procedures, and approval flows within prescribed timelines. Manage confidential data professionally and in compliance with statutory regulations.
Manage HR Operations encompassing life cycle activities such as leave and benefits administration, work pass manager for foreign colleagues and provide support with benefits enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
Facilitate communication regarding HR programs and updates to ensure employees stay informed of relevant policies and initiatives.
Respond promptly to inquiries from internal stakeholders, including employees and managers, regarding HR services such as payroll, leave, and benefits.
Recommend and implement improvements to streamline daily HR operations and monthly payroll operations based on industry best practices and service level standards.
Contribute to ongoing improvement initiatives by simplifying processes, participating in process enhancement projects, and engaging in ad hoc initiatives to enhance efficiency and improve the internal customer experience.
Perform any additional duties as assigned by management to support HR operations and organizational goals.
What we are looking for
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business management and/or Human Resource Management or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an HR generalist and well-versed in HR operations, including payroll and benefits
Possess sound working knowledge of local HR legislations and regulations, CPF & IRAS statutory requirements.
Must be able to handle a high level of confidential information regarding employees with sensitivity.
A team player with good interpersonal, problem-solving, and process-thinking skills
Ability to handle multiple and sometimes competing priorities with a positive attitude.
Strong attention to detail
Self-motivated and agile, with a desire to take on new challenges.
Meticulous approach to problem-solving and implementation of HR practices
Preferred Skills and Experience
Human Resource Certification preferred.
Prior experience with SAP Success Factors and Prosoft is advantageous.
