Position Summary
Help in development and deployment of product innovation in the Marketing Cycle plan for Batteries Portfolio including Alkaline, Lithium Round cells, and Recharge batteries.
Participate in setting the overall product strategy aligned with the brand strategy based on company, consumer, competitive, and marketplace dynamics
Assist in development and execution of the 3-year innovation product cycle plan serving as a liaison to R&D to ensure alignment, technical capabilities, consumer claims development, substantiation, etc,.
Lead product initiatives from initial scoping phase through the entire Stage Gate process until final implementation and delivery. Includes cross-functional team leadership, project management, financial reviews, key milestones and critical issues identification, leadership presentations and reviews, etc.
Brand marketing skills in leading and driving collaboration to deliver annual global marketing plans that support product initiatives / key projects to include consumer rationale, supporting area assets, pricing strategies, marketing guidelines, trade selling stories, and more as outlined in the asset grid
Partner with Consumer Insights team to understand consumer needs and perceptions as related to the sub-segment, trends, claims, product ideas, etc to inform Marketing plans.
Develop and deliver engaging presentations as part of deployment process
Partner closely with Legal and R&D to ensure sourcing/performance/claims/messaging are accurate
Demonstrate an on-going understanding of battery business via analysis through key tools. Understand competitive intelligence and changing marketplace dynamics for input into global strategies.
Serve as a key knowledge expert and resource for householdbatteries and associated projects and respond with a sense of urgency to priority internal and external ‘customer’ requests. Seek to build knowledge and internal relationships to assist in responsiveness.
Facilitate communication between Global and Activation by developing strong relationships with Activation Colleagues through regular contact, securing appropriate feedback on cycle plans, asset grid, claims, visibility etc.
Track competitive updates for respective sub-segment (packs/claims/performance/pricing) in key markets and provide updates to Category Batteries Team
Perform additional duties as assigned
Household Batteries Global Marketing Cycle Plan 3 Year – Alkaline, Lithium Round cells, Recharge
Household Batteries Annual Marketing Plan and Associated Deliverables – Marketing Strategies, New Products, 4 P Guidelines, Assets, Trade Stories, etc.
Household Batteries New Products / Product Initiatives for Portfolio
CPG background required
Exposure and understanding of global marketplace dynamics and considerations
Previous experience in retail and/or strategic consumer communication planning and development
Additional language fluency
Responsibilities
4-year degree or equivalent experience with an emphasis on Business, Marketing; MBA preferred
3-5 years of CPG brand marketing experience
English proficiency required
Strong 4P marketing experience (Packaging, Product, Pricing, & Placement)
Strong experience in brand marketing and product innovation and development – Stage Gate experience preferred
Strategic thinking and critical skills in terms of marketing cycle plans, claims, innovation
Outstanding project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet cost, quality, and schedule expectations
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
Strong ability to think critically and analytically
Demonstrated experience in ability to influence and build relationships
High ability to take initiative and self-direct
Ability to effectively work cross-functionally and communicate to internal and external teams
Produce high-quality work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Proactive and solution-oriented with a strong sense of urgency
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Nimble and agile approach to adjust to changing consumer preferences and business strategies
