Position Summary

Reporting to the Business Director of Developing Markets, the Sales Director for Vietnam will be a new hire and the first to join Energizer in Vietnam. This individual will play a key role in developing Vietnam as a developing market stronghold in the region.

In order to achieve this, the incumbent will be involved in the Market Entry, Go to Market and Company strategy and work closely with distributors, drive sales, build a network/ team of direct sales representatives and sales leaders across the country and manage the P&L with a focus on the traditional trade business.


  • Lead and be accountable for developing strategy and the implementation of Vietnam market growth plan.

  • Championing the traditional trade distribution development

  • Lead annual budget planning process for Vietnam market including monthly and quarterly reviews, sales target setting for accounts, drive distributor and team in achieving results

  • Build market shares for battery, capture listing opportunities for all product segments

  • Building strong customer relationships, ability to negotiate and grow the category with customers

  • Strong financial acumens, ability to evaluate investment ROI, deploy investment fund effectively in growing the business, responsible for P&L

  • Stakeholder management across functions, collaborate with marketing on consumer programs deployment, collaborate with supply chain on demand planning, customers delivery fulfillments

  • Solid forward planning, ability to resolve complex issues and address challenges from external and internal

  • Proactively monitor and strive to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the sales organization’s planning efforts through undertaking regular and frequent field visits to audit own and competitor activity

  • Drive digital automation to simplify way of workings for the team, ability to leverage insights to drive effective customer plans and consumer offtake

  • Build a strong team in Vietnam, consistently drive development, coach the team and provide on the job support in achieving business target

  • Lead, participate and involve in local or regional commercial projects

What we are looking for

  • The successful Sales Director should have experience in distributor, modern and traditional trade management and sales leadership role in reputable FMCG industry.

  • Bachelor’s degree (essential) / Master’s degree (preferred) in Business Administration/Marketing/Finance/others

  • 10-15 years of experience reputable FMCG environment in a variety of sales/customer/marketing roles.

  • Distributor, Modern & Traditional Trade experiences in managing Vietnam key retailers

  • In-depth experiences for sales and distribution to traditional trade across major city of Vietnam

  • Strong business and data acumen to identify trends and provide insights across categories and customers

  • Execution excellence: ability to think strategically and initiate, develop and drive a business-wide process and a solution based ‘Can do’ approach.

  • Ability to work within a cross-functional set-up demonstrating strong influencing skills at all levels.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and lead a multi-cultural team

  • Must be fluent English in both writing and spoken. Skilled in presenting to big audience & / or higher level.
