The Business Systems Analyst II, Manufacturing Applications will be part of a team responsible for providing application support for a wide variety of applications used in the manufacturing plants and R&D facility. The candidate must be able to understand business challenges and translate them into value added digital solutions.
Application Development, Support and Administration
Provide application support for a wide variety of applications used in manufacturing plants and R&D facility
Work with vendors and business leads to install and configure applications (new and upgrades)
Work with programming contractors to develop/enhance non-commercially available applications (custom built applications)
Work with other IT groups to develop links between the above applications and other applications such as SAP
Configure data validation, unit test, system test, integration and regression test and coordinate with Global IT to coordinate and execute data validation and testing with local and regional business users
Document design solutions to meet business requirements
Validate system fit to business requirements. Identify workarounds and recommend business process changes, if necessary
Business Engagement & Communication
Participate in meetings with business process owners, serving as a subject matter expert within area
Work directly with business stakeholders to understand and prioritize business requirements
IT Compliance & Audit
Help drive adherence to global IT policies and standards within functional area
Contribute to IT audits, as needed
Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field such as Computer Programming or MIS, or equivalent experience
5+ years of experience supporting applications used in manufacturing and R&D environments, both custom built and commercially available applications
Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems
Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, including presenting concisely and writing complex functional specifications that are understood by IT and non-IT audiences
Ability to work on multiple initiatives concurrently
Willingness to grow and broaden knowledge in the Manufacturing Applications space
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS
Programming experience using MS Visual Studio, MS VBA (Access and Excel)
Rudimentary knowledge of Active Directory, IIS, Microsoft PC and server OS’s, SharePoint
Working Relationships & Environment
Reports to Sr. Manager, Manufacturing Applications
Key relationships will include daily interaction with IT Manufacturing Applications Team
- Less than 10% travel required.
