Energizer is seeking an experienced Electro-Optical Technologist to join our Research and Development Team.
Assist with the development, design, testing, and research of optical and electronic components for LED-based lighting products
Participate in proof of concept, prototype development, and verification of final product design
Interact with outside testing partners in the evaluation of lighting products
Work in a team atmosphere to develop and troubleshoot new illumination technology and implementation of existing technology into new products
Develop, maintain, and apply current knowledge of illumination and electronics testing with respect to integrating spheres, goniophotometers, spectrophotometers, ANSI, IES, CIE, and UL standards
Perform Illumination testing and maintain calibration of laboratory equipment
Interpret standards and regulations relating to lighting illumination and electronics
Construct or modify optical and electronic models based on engineering direction
- May also perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills and Experience
Two-year Electronics, Engineering or Scientific associates degree or equivalent experience
Strong analytical skills for R&D activities related to illumination and/or electronics
Solid verbal and written communication ability
Robust computer and organizational skills
Demonstrated capability to work in a team environment
Preferred Skills and Experience
Hands-on experience with optical and electronics troubleshooting including a working knowledge of embedded software
Knowledge of photometric and electrical testing as applied to illumination products
Familiarity with integrating sphere, goniometer and spectrophotometer operation, calibration, and maintenance
Experience working with CAD, solid modeling and optical design software
Basic knowledge of LED control circuitry and surface mount technology
Working Relationships & Environment
Works closely with technicians, technologists, and engineers
Reports to a product development engineer
Key relationships internally will include Product Development, Marketing, Product Technical Support, Quality
External engagement will include agency partners.
