Position Summary

As the R&D Associate Manager on the Energizer Battery R&D Team, you will collaborate with engineers, technologists, and technicians to meet a variety of technical support needs for battery customers and consumers. You will provide a key role in commercial wins by quickly and accurately addressing technical questions by leading and producing technical responses related to all our battery products, and coordinating and analyzing any specialized testing. The position is based at our Energizer R&D facility in Westlake, OH.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a single point of contact within R&D for battery technical support requests

  • Respond to general technical inquiries accurately and in a way that can be understood by the requestor, who may be non-technical or have little technical knowledge of batteries

  • Collaborate with OEM customer engineering teams as needed to understand their unique application needs and provide relevant considerations from a battery perspective to assist their design

  • Coordinate specialized testing of batteries and devices and create presentations to communicate insights

  • Maintain technical support documentation including product datasheets, application manuals, and other reference documents, providing updates as needed

  • Partner with commercial, quality, and marketing teams as needed to provide technical information and an R&D perspective in pursuit of a variety of business objectives

  • Provide project leadership, from conception to launch, and communicate updates across cross-functional teams and to senior leadership

  • Refine internal processes and ways of working to optimize effectiveness and efficiency

  • Adapt departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges

What we are looking for

  • 4+ years of experience in R&D or equivalent setting with a track record of product improvement

  • Demonstrated leadership ability through direct/indirect supervision, project management, or cross-functional team coordination

  • Bachelors in Engineering, Chemistry, Electrochemistry, or relevant scientific discipline

  • Excellent communication skills including a demonstrated ability to do so effectively with external customers

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint (technical storytelling)

What we prefer

  • Experience in battery systems or other related consumer goods products
