Position Summary
Energizers' Alkaline Battery R&D team is seeking candidates to support the development of new products in the alkaline battery category. Candidate will work closely with scientists to plan and execute experiments and program steps to deliver a pipeline of innovations and cost savings to support Energizer’s global alkaline battery portfolio.
Responsibilities
Participate in the planning and execution of routine and non-routine experiments and tasks and assigned program steps
Routine and non-routine: create tables, charts and graphs, collect, record, transcribe data and perform calculations
Summarize data and analyzes for exceptions
Offer explanations for data exceptions
Create data reports that include conclusions in technical report format
Use appropriate materials and equipment and understands the underlying principles of use or operation
Apply understanding to the planning and execution of assigned program steps, experiments and tasks
Understand the basic principles, materials, and parts of energy systems and/or devices in assigned area
Design and conduct experiments, under supervisor guidance, leading to new and improved systems, constructions, or processes having marketable cost/performance advantages
Train and instruct others to perform routine and non-routine tasks and experiments
Create training documentation
Coordinate the work of co-workers and interface with other Technology product groups, equipment, service groups, and plants to acquire the information and services necessary to execute assigned program steps, experiments and tasks
Suggest, organize and execute experiments leading to new or improved methods and provides full documentation of results
Practice proper safety procedures
Recognize, report and document unsafe acts or conditions
Provide leadership for others in Key Result areas
Participate in and implement department continuous improvement activities
Serve as an ad hoc team member as required
Additional duties as assigned
What we are looking for
Minimum 3 years of pertinent college course work or equivalent experience/education and a good fundamental understanding of higher-level mathematics, mechanics, general science, and general computer applications
5+ years of demonstrated related experience in a technical laboratory or similar environment
Exposure to health risks or conditions which may require the use of (PPE) Personal Protective Equipment (including Safety Glasses, Gloves, Lab Coat and may be required to use a respirator)
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint
What we prefer (not required)
- Associate Degree or higher in Physical Sciences (example: Chemistry, Physics) or Engineering
